Wowwigs wig and hairpiece superstore wowwigs.com Credit Card Scam Califonia Internet

I was trying to buy a wig for my wife from this website. I am in Canada. The final price on the item was $ 67.90. 37.95 for the wig plus 29.95 international shipping.

The website does not specify what currency the final cost is in. US or Canadain. Since I had to provide where I was, I naturally presumed the 67.90 was Canadian dollars.

However, the transaction was declined a couple of times on a $ 75 dollar prepaid Vanilla Visa. I called visa to find out why. They informed me I was being charged $ 94.47 not the $ 67.90 shown on their website. So i callled Wowwigs. They tell me the credit card company, Visa is converting the 67.90 to US dollars.

At this point I realized there is something fishy. The conversion rate of US to Cdn dollar as of Dec 31st 2015 was $ 1 cdn = 0.72 US. There was no way $ 67.90 Cdn would somehow equal 94.47. In fact it is $ 49.01 US.

I called Visa again, they tell they only process whatever amount wowwigs website submitts. It is not them charging the extra $ 26.57.

This company is ripping people off. I urge anyone thinking of, or having bought an item from them, to recheck how much they were actually charged.
