On November 16, 2011 I ordered two engine gauge feed wiring harnesess that would connect to the oil pressure sending unit to the firewall, and from the temperature sending unit to the firewall. These wires were for my 1988 Mercury Cougar.  I recieved a USPS flat rate envelope a few days later, but it contained only one connector with three inches of wire.  I then called Aeromotive and spoke with Josh May and he stated well, I can send you another connector with a few feet of wire connected.  I explained that, that would do me no good and that's not what I ordered, I again explained it should be two wires with connections at each end.  He then checked with his boss who said, I could return the part for a 25% restocking fee !  He then put me on hold and when he got back on the phone he said, we don't have harnesess for anythng older than 8 years old.  I asked Josh well then why did you send me a $5.00 part for $73.99 plus $20.00 shipping that cost you $14.85 ?, and all he said was you can return it, but that I would be charged that restocking fee.  So now I am stuck with a part that I can't use, and I am out $93.99 !

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

inaccurate slander

AUTHOR: josh - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, January 03, 2016

I just discovered this now 5 years later and I still remember Anthony Fama and his 1988 cougar. In November 2011 Anthony was in a hurry to order a harness after completing the online form Aeromotive had at the time. I was in charge of customer service for Anthony. After reviewing the form I notified Anthony through both phone call and email that we did not carry nor make harnesses for vehicles that are 10 years or older. I didnt turn him away either. Instead I gave him hope in the fact that we could get him specific connectors for a vehicle if he could take at least one picture of the connectors he desired. He exchanged actual pictures of the parts and we took photos of the part that matched. Perfectly I might add. We eventually and mutually agreed on the connectors and proceeding to the next step. I explained to him the policy on returns in the event he wanted to send the connectors back I.E. inaccurate part, damaged, or just plain dont want. He agreed with the companies policy which I went over in detail before the parts were shipped. We even paid extra to ship him his parts overnight with USPS next day Air because he claimed to be stressed out with "a butt load of work to do". Anthony was only billed for the standard 2-3 day shipping. Anthony does have email confirmations for all transactions and of the Aeromotive policies regarding returns. Anthony received the part within the confirmed shipping time of USPS next day air. He called back after receiving the part and said he had been pressed for time, in so many words, and ordered a new harness that he billed Allstate for. I reminded Anthony of our return policy which was also shipped with his part. It states that we accept returns within a specific time frame and it will include a restocking fee. Anthony was upset that he could not get a full refund for a part that was identified correctly and without defect. He then started swearing at me and my boss claiming that he bought the same parts for cheaper. We buy our connectors whole sale direct from the manufacture and we only mark up 10% Because thats how we make payroll and help charitable foundations. Anthony's parts together cost us a combined $70 from the manufacturer. We marked it up to a total of $73.99 in total plus shipping. Basic math says we made $3.99 on those parts which is about 7%. That said, Anthony received several discounts including part cost and shipping. The cost for which is normally $40 for overnite and standard is $20. I have no control over any costs as I am not the owner of the company. Furthermore, Anthony never allowed for the credit card to complete payment and has since held on to the connector. he paid with a visa by the way. Aeromotive never sought any civil action against him as legal fees alone would be more than the parts lost. To this very day Anthony has never returned the connector, apologized, nor sent payment for the parts. Anthony felt that he was unjustly wronged and could only muster an attempt to smear my name with false truths. Anthony never did tell us where he got the same parts for $5 and personally I would like to know. If he could find it in him to have the part returned and his restocking fee paid or to have full payment for the part and shipping, that would be most decent. With utmost respect and best wishes Joshua May
