I bought an unlock code for my blackberry q10.
They sent the code with-in 24 hours. I was super happy for the fast service.
These are the instructions I received:
---------- Instructions ----------
Read This First
* With the provided Unlock codes, if you are receivng "Code Error", DO NOT WORRY! proceed to the end of the page to the "Trouble Shooting" section on how to proceed.
* DO NOT use all of the attempts to enter the Unlock code otherwise your phone will be Hardlocked (MEP 0), Contact us First if you have less than 5 tries left to enter the Unlock Code.
* Video proof will be required if code does not work, it's a good idea to film it so we can help trouble shoot what the problem is. We may also offer you a discount off your original purchase amount if you can provide us with a video of successfully unlocking your device.
There are Multiple Unlock Codes Above, which One is it?
Try the first 8 or 16 digit code, if error try the next 8 or 16 digit code. If both are giving an error, the two codes you received are 16 digits, use the first 8 digits of the 16 digit code.
Caution! if you have less than 5 attempts left contact us first!
If you only received 1 Unlock Code, Don't worry about this part, use the code provided above. Or if the Unlock Codes above contain the words "Preferred" OR "Other Codes" try using those codes first.
---------- Code Input Instructions ----------
How to Enter the Unlock Code into my Blackberry?
1. Insert a non accepted simcard and power phone on.
2. Go to Settings > Security and Privacy > Simcard
3. Press "Unlock Network"
4. Enter the 8 or 16 digit code
Phones is now Unlocked!
---------- Trouble Shooting ----------
"Code Error" What do I do?
Please DO NOT WORRY!
If you received a 16 digit code, use the first 8 digits of the 16 digit code.
Caution! if you have less than 5 attempts left contact us first!
----------------------------------------
Notice how it says in step 4 "Enter the 8 or 16 digit code"
I tried both and neither worked.
I contact them when I still had 7 attempts even though they say to contact them if you have less than 5. I figured better safe than sorry.
After a few emails back and forth, they ask me to verify that my phone is locked to my provider.
I put in a SIM card from my provider to show them that it in fact is locked to that network and I filmed it and sent it to them proving to them that my phone is locked to the network I told them it is and I also showed my IMEI number just to be safe.
By following their troubleshooting steps I was down to 3 attempts. Please note they are not sure as to what to do. They suggest try this and try that. Nothing definite.
I email them again and then they request me to submit a video with me showing the IMEI number and me trying to enter in their code. I did that and now I'm down to two attempts.
I let them know that I sent the video as they requested and they informed me to please allow them two to three business days for them to review the video.
I have emailed them every few days or so and now it has been over 20 days since I sent the video to them and still nothing.
They said they are waiting for their "supplier" to review the video.
That tells me they don't have the codes themselves and are just re-selling.
It has been a month since I placed my order and they are not delivering what they are promising.
From their website:
- Exceptional Customer Support - We are here to help if you get stuck
- Unlocking your phone network fast and easy
- Fast and relievable - Highly recommended
- 100% guaranteed or your money back.
- Unlock your phone in minutes
I have not seen any of that.
Even if they do give me a refund - what am I to do with a phone that is down to two attempts? Try to find someone else to unlock it for me? No one will want to touch the phone.
