I completed an online order with Payless Shoes, and at end of order, was solicited to purchase 4 magazine subscriptions......3 subscriptions were purported to cost $2.00 each and the other subscription was "free".  I ordered the magazines.  I later cancelled and replaced that debit card.

However, here is the catch!  Having completed an online order with Blair online catalog store a little more than one year ago my order failed to reach me timely.  After complaining when sent a follow-up survey, I received an offer to purchase magazines at a low cost, and that order was completed as stated.  I refused re-newal of these subscriptions this year.........But when I responded to this year's offer associated with Payless Shoes, I was billed exorbitant re-newal charges (for the previous year's magazines) on the debit card information I gave with the new order.  I have written to them via the email address (which is all that I have in so-far as a contact number) requesting my monies be refunded to my account.  To date, there has been no response.  In addition I wrote to the magazine companies and told them I do not want their magazines, and returned them to sender.  Essence Magazine was so bold as to write and tell me that they could not stop the subscriptions on my word.  No one else has responded.  I am going to follow up with Southern Living, Food and Wine, Oprah Magazine, and Essence Magazine, again!  I did not think I had a leg to stand on with the bank, but after reading this website, I will try to get the bank to refund my money.........hope it works.
