My maintenance fee was supposed to be collected monthly for the year.  In January they debited the total amount from my checking account.  This was not supposed to happen.  It caused my account to be overdrawn and several payments that I had scheduled to be late.  The yearly amount is $654.36 but the monthly amount of $54.53 was all that was to be taken.  After I realized the error was made I called and was told that the amount would be credited back to my account (less the monthly amount) and this was their error.  This took place on January 29, 2016.

The following week the money was not there.  They had credited an old Visa credit card with the amount instead of my checking account. This took place on 2/2/2016.  I spoke with the manager of the finance department and she assured me that the correction would be made on 2/5/2016 and I would not have to wait for the money to be transferred back to them from the credit card. It is now 2/11/2016 and I still don't have my money back in my account.  I spoke with Cindy Washum, the mgr that told me the money would be transferred on 2/5/2016.  She told me that the finance people had to wait for the money to be returned from the credit card.  Not what she said before.  I asked to speak to someone who had the authority to make this transaction immediately and was told that her manager and the managers above them were all in off-site meetings in Orlando.  How convenient!!

It is now 5pm and my last conversation with Ms. Washum was that they would send me a check for $200 overnight.  I told her that was not acceptable and they would have to send the total amount.  She says that the overnight delivery will not go out until tomorrow because it is too late for them to get it done today.  In addition, they would send 2 checks ($200 and $399.83) so that I would have the total amount.  Keep in mind that it is 2pm in Las Vegas! This overnight delivery will not get to me until Monday 2/8/2016 (4 days) and Monday is a holiday.  Let's see how this works out.

My complaint is that when a company this large makes a mistake such as this it is not fair that I should have to wait for the money to be returned to them from the credit card company.  They are large enough that a credit for $599.83 is just a drop in the bucket and could be handled immediately.  As a consulation Ms. Washum says she noted my account to be credited with the payments for February and March of this year.  This is a small amount for the big  inconvenience they have caused me.  I don't know if the overnight will be here on Monday but I will let you know.  To be continued......
