It's pretty obvious that how this company does business based on the reports here.

In short we purchased a WYNN'S extented vehicle warranty from a dealership in Indiana. While on vacation in UTAH the rear end went out.
Total cost of repair was just shy of $1500.00 and we had to rent a car because the repairs took several days.
Wynn's (wynns) claims they never got notice of the claim so they aren't paying it. They also claim to have no records that we ever called even though we have called the four times and no records of us ever sending them a receipt for the claim even though we sent them one.
Now they claim since we didn't send them a receipt within 180 day that they will not reimburse us even though we DID send them a copy (they "have no record of it")
How convenient. No records of filing a claim, no record of receiving proof of claim and no record of any phone calls even though we wrote down the names of the people we spoke with.
WYNN'S WYNNS is a ripoff of the first degree.
We will now be forced to file a small claim against them in court to get the repairs covered.
WYNN'S WYNNS PHOENIX AMERICAN should not be trusted. Tell your everybody you know.
WYNN'S WYNNS is now owned by PHOENIX AMERICAN. Their website is at: http://www.phoenixamerican.com/phoenixamerican/products.html

Diagnostic fee ?

cloudshe, $135 dollar diagnostic fee they paid? Of course they did. Would they have paid the diagnostic fee for an engine that had no compression in let's say the number 2 cylinder and for instance 75 lbs in the # 7 cylinder which by the way indicates a major problem witht the engine on a vehicle that they would have to take the whole nose of the vehicle off just to check if it were the Cam shaft's, bent valves or a damaged timing gear/chain just for starters? or would they try to look for a loop hole so they didn't have to spend 4-6 thousand maybe more?
4-6 thousand dollars takes a few peoples entire contract price and throws it away , so they're more likely to do it to someone like that.
Your little 2-3 hr repair is hardly worth a strike to their record because it is not costing them to much. The person said then had a service contract, why would they not contact them "Wynn's" That seems a little ridiculous if you ask me.
I want to hear from someone who's vehicle needed major repairs and major diagnostic fee.
Thank you.

Wynn's honors its contracts

i have had two claims on my zero-deductable warrantee with wynn's.
the first case, at a dealership, the service rep was quite skeptical that Wynn's would actually pay the whole bill, including the $135 "diagnostic fee", but less than two hours later i had the problem repaired and it cost me Nothing.
the second case, i used a local mechanic. he was unsure he could complete all the paperwork requirements, which included making some phone calls and faxing an invoice and work guarantee. i made the phone calls, never having to wait more than 5 - 10 minutes for a wynn's rep. all 3 reps i talked to were very professional and courteous and clearly explained what was required to meet the contract. once the paperwork was faxed the shop received a direct deposit in less than a day. again it cost me nothing.
fact is, you CANNOT have your vehicle repaired and then afterward request reimbursement based on the paperwork. i'm certain there would be much more consumer/mechanic fraud if it was done that way. the mechanic has to diagnose first and THEN the insurer okays the parts/labor required at the Normal rate the shop charges.
in my experience, Wynn's has twice done Exactly what they promised, in a courteous, professional manner. Good Company to do business with!

Don't get warranty throug Wynn's

I agree with the report. Wynn's acted the exact same way to me. They will work very diligantly to find a loophole to get out of paying any claim. You are throwing your money away if you get an extended warranty through Wynn's because you won't see a dime from them for a valid claim.

READ YOUR CONTRACT!

I have many years in the car business and have sold these and many other warranties to thousands of customers. We as honest car dealers would explicitly tell the customer that, "NO CLAIM WILL BE PAID WITHOUT PRIOR AUTHORIZATION"! as it also reads on said contract under the "What to do when you have a breakdown section" by THE 1-800 NUMBER!
THE CONTRACTS ARE ALL VERY EXPLICIT WITH THIS AND ANY RESPECTABLE MECHANIC SHOP KNOWS THIS AS WELL. ALL service contracts and warranties have the right to not pay any claim that was not previously authorized by them.
IT IS UNFAIR TO SLAM ANY COMPANY LIKE THIS WITHOUT A VALID CLAIM! IF CONSUMERS WOULD READ AND UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY ARE BUYING THEY WOULD ENJOY THE PRODUCT TO THE FULLEST. BUT PLEASE DON'T GIVE ANYONE A BAD REVIEW WHEN IT IS YOUR FAULT THAT YOU DID NOT READ,UNDERSTAND, AND FOLLOW PROPER PROCEDURES.
WYNN'S PHOENIX AMERCAN IS A GREAT COMPANY WHO'S POLICIES ARE INSURED BY NATIONWIDE AND HAVE PAID MILLIONS IN CLAIMS.
