Wyo Theatre, Laramie Slander, Attacking, Judging Laramie Wyoming

One of these days, if this ____ is still up, I'll bother filing it. Haven't read any of it. Way too long to care! Funny lies from a nothing in the Laramie community, trying to grind his nosering on ...me? HA! Funny that I was the ONLY guy to comment on "Boycott Wyo" - which was soon pulled down by the manchild who dresses in cape and nosering! The punk Brammy has a friend in Austin Texas who followed Brammy to the point of making telephone calls (the second was while an Austin detective was on the line). HA HA HA . This loser brammy has tried all his ___ for six weeks and all it's done is end the theater's paid newspaper advertising support for pet adoption. Brammy is apparently suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder. Poor nosering.

Due to the ridiculousness of other people getting blamed for this report PLEASE DO NOT comment anymore! I will not disclose who I am but I will not tolerate other people getting faulsly accused. 

In regards to the Wyo Theater, Laramie owner I wish you the best and hope you soon decide to stop all of this drama. We are all adults and I'm pretty sure none of us need any of this stress!

While the issue here is much more complicated and involved than the original report alluded to, and I am not going to get too far into the details of the bizarre meanderings of this most recent debacle,  I need to make one thing painfully clear to the owner of the WYO Theatre and everyone else here, who insists on making false accusations regarding myself and my fiance, two other local business owners here in Laramie.  While I agree with much of what is being said and have witnessed much of this nonsense, I did not write this report, I was not even aware of it or informed who wrote it until this morning.  Niether was my fiance. 

I also was not the one who initiated the current boycott movement on social media regarding this company, I simply joined and supported it when it caught my attention and I felt it was necessary.  The public, false, and demeaning accusations the owner of the WYO Theatre is now making towards myself and my family even in his rebuttals here on this site, as well as the insulting, demeaning, bizarre messages he has sent my family personally based on those assumptions and accusations, are examples of some of the things occurring with this establishment and the current owner thereof. 

They are inexcuseable, and due to the objectively false nature of them, are classified as libel.  The owner of the WYO Theatre needs to immediately cease making false accusations and publicly insulting myself and my family, here or otherwise.  On the other hand, nothing I have stated on any other site during this debacle has included false information or anything that this person has not actually said, as is evidenced by a conglomerate of digital evidence compiled by a number of people.

I have no working relationship with any of the people who were initially involved in this controversy; I did not even know them until the last 24 hours.  I do support their cause and agree with their opinions and intentions; however, the bizarre assumptions this establishment is publicly making about myself and my family are absolutely outrageous and untrue.  It is ridiculous that I had to come sign up for a RoR account simply to clear my name, when I wasn't even involved in the issue originally.  This needs to stop now.

This entire fiasco on RoR should serve to give some credibility to the original report, however...as I mentioned, it detailed only the tip of the iceberg.

I am a performer, customer, and friend of the Gryphon. In mutable posts to Facebook the new Owner is using his business page to slam the community of Laramie. I am not sure where he is getting his facts. The WyoTech employees are that he is referring to are not even employees. They are volunteers and get extra credit points for so doing. If you serve booze anywhere in this country you have to apply for a permit. When you do this you have to state where your serving area is, who (age range) will be in attendance, and the boundaries of where the alcohol is allowed. 

Addressing the tat/pierced: if you wanted to quote the people or promoters who described our audience as "Noserings and tats" you should have done it is Quotations not in (...). I have 9 tattoos ALL HAVE MEANING. None of them were on a whim or drunken nights. So yes, what was stated is offensive. You might not have been the one that directly said it but you went on to state it and did nothing to state your own opinion. So most took it as face value and simulated that you had the same opinion. You used the same words in that post later. Direct quote from the post that you deleted "Imagine! The nosering/tat crowed doesn't pay for anything but enough beer to pay for a movie rental." So our observations of you using those exact words make us believe that this is your opinion. I understand, far too well, that people have their opinions of tattooed and pierced people.

In another post on your business page Wyo Theatre, Laramie you then state "... explanation of h*e the Laramie elite really works in exploiting an underclass of kids who live in trailers and are herded like sheep to the city-owned, taxpayer subsidized Gryphon..." last time I checked very few of the audience, customers, clients, performers, etc. live in trailers. You are assuming that they are trailer trash. That couldn't be further from the truth. I have seen lawyers, bankers, judges, local business owners to name a few sitting in the seats of the Gryphon for all of its events.

Begging: The Gryphon has never begged for anything. If there are grants and programs that they have the ability to apply for or receive then it is simply using the resources around you.

I do not understand how you keep insulting the community that you have to depend on to have a SUCCESSFUL business. “Laramie is a small town with mediocre ambitions …”  “What I -do- dislike is the marginalized way that theh Laramie elite has "embraced" this lifestyle: With a tatoo parlor on every block of downtown Laramie and enabling venues like the Gryphon to survive- only if they ply this same exploited class of people with more of what they don't need...corporate provided substances that lead to abuse in a going-nowhere economy like Laramie!”  “…(within the lousy cultural constraints imposed on them by the entrenched elite of Laramie )”

Family oriented business: Bambi and frozen Disney movies and then Jay-Z. Ok! Let’s look at some of the “family oriented” lyrics of Jay-Z. Keep in mind I do not hate or dislike him. “Blue told me remind you n* He'll that s* y'all talk about I'm the n*, uh caught up in all these lights and cameras, uh But look what that s* did to Hammer, uh God d*it it I like it” Blue being his daughter. “F* the fame, keep cheating on me…” “Psycho b* in my lobby” From song Holy Grail. “I got 99 problems, but a b* ain't one” this lyric is repeated 14 times in the song “I'm like f* critics, you can kiss my whole a*hole” lyrics from 99 problems. I believe that I only need two songs to prove my point.

You do not know who the “Ha” person is. Because the one that you have accused of being said person, on your business page is not “Ha”.

My family and I used to love the Wyo Theatre. Living only a few blocks from it we would walk there and enjoy whatever was playing. I have been one of the main supporters of #boycottwyotheatre. My mother and her friends make up the huge chunk of the crowd that attends the Film Society screenings. She and her friends stand by me and many others in support of this boycott.

Your words have destroyed the reputation of a Land Mark of the Laramie community. The only one that suffers here is you. Your business will not be as strong as it could have been. The low level, trailer trash, tattooed/ pierced, elitist scum will move on. It is what we do. Despite what you have said many of them are educated people. This is why we have chosen to boycott your business. I truly hope that you change your ways of attacking those who would be your biggest supporters. But, I will not hold my breath.

I don't know who think this is but I can assure you I am not who you think. I made this post because I am a customer at the Gryphon and have been for many years.  I respect your response to this as everyone is allowed their own opinion. I felt as a company you should not have publicly posted hateful messages about another company or the people who go. If you want to slam the Gryphon on your private/personal page then do so but not representing a place of business. I get that you are the new owner and want to make your company succeed but there are better ways to do so than name calling/slandering the staff/customers and what the Gryphon is. I have been to many shows where alcohol wasn't supplied and one recently where it wasn't allowed in the theater because there were underage people in there. So I personally would appreciate it if you keep your ill words off the company page and leave it to your private page. I don't think that is too much to ask and from what I can tell it will help calm the flames of all that are boycotting. 

This hate campaign was started by a guy named "Ha"? That says it all. I know who he is: when he threatened to "destroy your business" Sunday (the day he posted this on Ripoff) I wrote back one word, "Ha". This guys posts personalized insults in letters to the editor and apparently online everywhere. I'm glad he's "involved" in the community- even as he attacks me. Too bad the guy didn't talk with his wife before proving his power to destroy me. She and I have spent many minutes (the night he evidently posted this and today i spent a half hour writng her back.

FACT: I respect the Gryphon- but not their "need" in the community of borderline Wyoming alcoholics to market "free movies with beer"...in a City owned building that can't even be maintained properly- without coming to my family's foundation for a $100,000 handout. It's also not the Gryphon's fault that a marginal class of (mostly young and probably  not well-educated) workers have been created in Laramie by the entrenched elites (both left and right, with UW and city elite always vying for control of city policy and newspaper expression (where Ha always has something personal to say about someone else's letter to the editor.

Laramie is a small town with mediocre ambitions (as communicated by the elite and picked up by organizations trying to do a good job like the Gryphon.

The Gryphon Theater is very well run! It is staffed by Wyo Tech kids who are proud of the venue (the last time I visited the building, one tech student - doing security- was so imformed, he told me that David S, the manager of the Gryphon, was at City Council that evening!. BUT, the fact remains that, three blocks from my cinema business is a "movie theater" that isn't really that... as much as a bar, offering "free movies with paid beer."

As a Laramie taxpayer I do have a problem with the Gryphon's landlord (the City of Laramie owns the century old building) when (A) they're marginalizing a business like the Gryphon in such a way that the only way the Gryphon can show movies is to throw booze into the formula... then (B) come to the private foundation I am on the board of was asked to give $100,000 to the building's maintenance!

As for "noserings and tats". This was not directed at people who choose to embellish themselves as such. This was a response by (A) a group of housewives who shun -some-  Gryphon audiences and who I heard Friday were scared that my theater would follow suit and (B) by a couple of promoters who came to me for a chance to break free of what they both perceive to be a marketing segment that the Gryphon is limited to serving (and they're right. As i told "Ha's" wife this morning in email, I'm now working on something huge from Texas that will need every stage in Laramie to fulfill- but anyone with a ring or tat will have to reecognize that they might end up seated next to the very kind of person who don't like em cuz the way they look.  ).

Me personally? I don't dislike people with body art. I'm 60, and even though my paintings have been sold in 20-some markets (including Paul Renoir Paris) not many of my acquaintences have rings and tats. What I -do- dislike is the marginalized way that theh Laramie elite has "embraced" this lifestyle: With a tatoo parlor on every block of downtown Laramie and enabling venues like the Gryphon to survive- only if they ply this same exploited class of people with more of what they don't need...corporate provided substances that lead to abuse in a going-nowhere economy like Laramie! As a taxpayer, I've decided not to directly compete with the Gryphon for live performances. I love that they ARE "Laramie's best performance venue." I simply don't want to cause the Gryphon and their landlord even more problems...causing them to seek private foundation support, year after year! I want the Gryphon to succeed- even as a real movie house- but not as a bar, located in a city building, showing "free movies." 

Like I told "Ha"'s wife this morning, she and (anyone -unlike her- who are on the margins of) Laramie society are welcome at the Wyo- not because I want their money. I don't need it. I am an artist and I am re-creating a 90 year old cinema into a work of art that will elevate the community and make it more diverse. Anyone with a nose ring or a tatoo is welcome. But they must know that when they come to the Wyo... that they're not walking into the Gryphon for another corporate-sponsored MONSTER SLAM FEST! Instead, they'll be walking into a family-oriented business...where Bambi, Frozen and (a JAY Z movie something I was working on with the producer a few minutes ago... before this sad hate post was brought to my attention by a professional who monitors this site and offered to charge me to fix it).

In summary, I like the Gryphon. I respect the management (David S) and for their professional staff AND for their current work (within the lousy cultural constraints imposed on them by the entrenched elite of Laramie ). But I do not respect the culture that seems to stagger into the night from a city-owned building and attacks me just because I have something to say about it as a taxpayer and local business person.

We we all have family that has fought in a war so throwing that in this was a but well uh! Yes I was personally offended but wyo theater slandered or at least attempted to try to slander the gryphon theater! 

The grphohob no theater hosts shows all the time in which people from surrounding cities attend! I think it's about time to do your homework before posting a comment on stuff you don't know about! 

 You may not like it but it IS their right to express THEIR OPINION!!!! It looks like a twitter post to me, which means ONLY a select group of people are going to see it. Even if it was a LOCAL post, YOU have aggrivated the situation by posting it on RoR.

Reguardless they DO have the right to express how they feel. Just as YOU do. YOU have expressed YOUR opinion. Unfortunatly your booboo hurt feelings ARE NOT a ripoff. If YOU were not named INDIVIDUALLY then what YOU have done is worse then what THEY have done. They expressed how they felt, but YOU took it to a whole new level that it DID NOT need to go to. YOU have put it out pretty much all over the web. It will pop up in EVERY search engine now. That kinda makes what YOU have done worse by about a thousand times over. Just because YOU have ink, you THINK you have some place to speak about how THEY feel. But you dont since YOU were not named. That makes YOU an instigator. A bit of a bully and well a D***!

Are you mad because THEY have expressed their feelings or are you mad because THEY ARE RIGHT? Either way, awful nice of you to attempt to PUNISH another citizen for expressing their constitutionally protected rights JUST BECAUSE you dont agree with what they had to say. Must be awful nice to know how close to being a commie or n**i you truly are becoming. I swear!!! With all the family members I have lost due to wars to protect our rights and the rights of others and we STILL have intolerant jackbooted thugs to contend with. Its a shame really. All those deaths and YOU are the product of THEIR sacrifice.

...... I am completely offended by this new Theatre and feel as though they are attacking me personally for my ink! I am speaking for the thousands in Laramie WY that attend shows/concerts/movies every single year.......
