Everything they say about Wyotech being a complete scam is completely true. DO NOT enroll in any program at this "accredited" trade school without doing proper research and comparisons about other local schools in the area first. If you are doing the proper research then you should see that 99% of reviews about this school are true in that it is a rip off and waste of money. I am currently enrolled in their electrical program at the Sacramento campus and regret every day of it. If you are not on the GI bill or have rich parents then lemme fill you in on how tuition works: $22000 electrical program -$5500 Pell grant = $17000. $17000 plus 15% interest rate from the school loan = somewhere in the range of $26000. I am an independent student and have applied for every grant possible including Calgrant (which student services and financial aid does not help you with) and will end up paying $30k. Also note that the "financial aid" dept is only there to lie to you and help you fill out the required FAFSA forms required by the school. They make you feel like your'e getting a deal by getting the Pell Grant which anyone is eligible for. So that's just getting into the school, now lets cover the campus experience. Caused by the fact that anyone can just come sign up, and my school geographical location (Sacramento, CA) you will be in a class with drug addicts, sex predators, convicts, and little kids fresh out of high school. The instructors get their jobs off monster.com and are not qualified instructors. There is not much structure within the school aside from "guidelines" they like to push to make them feel in charge. These include things that should be done at any job site such as keeping your cell phones off and shirts tucked in. They worry about these rules so much that they overlook the stoners smoking in the parking lot, or the hardcore drug addicts "using" before class and causing a disturbance during class. I am far from exaggerating these facts, this is a daily occurrence. I regret wasting the money on this class and would never let anyone I know go through this nightmare. Admissions reps are like car salesmen and want nothing more than a good looking quota. If you are looking to enroll in an electrician program try UTI or if you have the time join the union and get your education for free. Hope this was somewhat helpful.
