I recently received notification that this company is collecting a debt from 1999 that I had with Sears, AND that I had cleaned up with Sears years ago. I have not heard of this debt since, it has not shown up on any credit reports EVER, I have purchased a house, received loans and purchased a car. This company, Wyse, is not listed as being licensed through the state of Colorado and they have an UNSATISFACTORY record with the Better Business Bureau there, of whom they are also not a member.

Upon contacting them, they were EXTREMELY unprofessional, rude and when I stated all the above facts I was screamed at and threatened! Crazy! I have reported them to the licensing department in Colorado as well as the BBB. I have sent a certified letter stating my rights and, for them to verify this debt in a legal manner. We'll see what happens!

Wyse tried to Collect

AUTHOR: Steph - (U.S.A.)

I was also contacted by this company, regarding a ten year old debt. They first called me on the phone and would not identify themselves. They kept on asking for my social. After I told them I wouldn't give them that type of information over the phone, they hung up. A few days later I received a letter in the mail asking for a full payment of $11,000 or they would notify the credit report agencies.

Well, I know they can't place old debt back on credit report after it has been removed; but I was worried that if I don't respond that I might reactivate the old debt. I respond with a very lengthy letter requesting the validation of this debt, and sent it certified. They did not waste any time with sending a response. The letter stated that the old debt was transfered back to the originator, and not to contact or pay Wyse. Okay, now that the original creditor has debt back, what is going to happen now? Will it be transfered to another collection agency or will the originator try to handle it themselves.
