XFX Contravene warranty terms. Customer service really sucks. My $315 7800GT dead and they are not giving RMA. Their lifetime warranty is marketing gimmick. Check their customer support chat:
[ 4/2/2009 1:39:28 AM] My Graphics Card just fan is running but not getting any display. If changed to any 2 othergraphics cards that I have I am getting the display. I would like to get the RMA number to return the card for replacement under lifetime warranty. Thanks, Raju.

[DANIEL_E 4/2/2009 1:42:26 AM] For the warranty in order to get the double lifetime warranty the card must be registered within 30 days of the purchase date. Going by the serial number the card was manufactured more than 2 years ago. If you do not have the receipt showing the card was registered within 30 days of the purchase date; then we'll have to go by the date the card was manufactured. If that's the case the card is out of warranty. Daniel

[ 4/3/2009 2:34:01 AM] The policy you mentioned is for the items bought after April 17, 2007. I am the original purchaser and I bought my item with the invoice date 12/2/2005. I also registered my product immediately. I have the invoice receipt email for my online order from monarchcomputer. I can forward that email if you need it.Invoice Number: 0351325 Order Number: 0474329 Invoice Date 12/2/2005.

[BRIAN 4/3/2009 7:15:27 PM] Hi Seshu, please email a copy of your invoice to bcxfx123@xfxforce.com with the ticket number as the subject. Thanks, brian.
[ 4/4/2009 8:01:27 PM] Brian, As per your request forwarded my invoice to the email address bcxfx123@xfxforce.com with subject Reference: Ticket ID 219275. Thanks, Raju.
[BRIAN 4/6/2009 11:45:36 PM] Hi Seshu, it looks like the card is out of warranty at this point and we cannot warranty the card at this time. thanks, Brian.
[ 4/7/2009 4:33:17 PM] What do mean by out of warranty. Please explain me Lifetime warranty terms.
[ 4/7/2009 4:36:24 PM] Is lifetime warranty is your marketing gimmick?

[DANIEL_E 4/8/2009 12:57:07 AM] Hi, the lifetime the warranty is only valid if you had registered the card within 30 days of the purchase date. Daniel
[ 4/10/2009 5:26:22 AM] I registered within 30 days of my purchase. Also 30 days registration policy is effective for the cards purchased after April 17, 2007. Not for the cards purchased before that date. Also at that time I received the Far cry game as I registered within 30 days. Please check your warranty terms my registration records carefully and do not reply for the sake of replying. Can you please provide me your supervisor's phone number. I would like to report breach of your warranty terms to consumer advocates as well as government agencies. Thanks, Raju.

[DANIEL_E 4/10/2009 7:25:40 PM] Hi, the lifetime warranty is only valid if the card had been registered within 30 days of the purchase date. This applies to all video cards 6 series to present series that were purchased in USA or Canada. Daniel
[ 4/11/2009 6:23:11 PM] I registered withing 30 days. Why your are saying I am not registered with in 30 days. I am registered with in 30 days and got far cry game when I bought that card. You have some problems with your systems go check them first. Thanks, Raju

TO THE PERSON WHO POSTED THIS:

YOU DID NOT REGISTER YOUR CARD WITHIIN 30 DAYS OF PURCHASE!

If you could not understand that they were trying to tell you that all along, you should seriously read over your ticket with XFX.  It clearly explains, from what I can see, that they are telling you that you did not register the card within 30 days of purchse or provide proof of purchase within the past 30 days.  If you had done so, your RMA would have had an outcome more like my recent one with XFX, which I copied/pasted below:

[ 4/22/2010 9:10:13 PM] I have two of these cards. This one was working fine with the other one in SLi for a while. I then started getting artifacts on the screen and weird lines and all. It also BSOD sometimes. This card is the main one causing the issue. The other one is working, but it is also running a bit hot and I still get artifacts and stuff on the screen at times. These cards were running at stock speeds and everything. I did no customizations/modifications that could have caused this. I thought these 8800 GTS 640 MB cards were good cards, but I guess I was wrong. They were very expensive and don`t perform near what some of the newer cards of equal value do. They also run a bit hot (which is normal I suppose) and they use a LOT of power for NOT a lot of performance. I`m very disappointed that this happened with these cards. I`m not sure what could have caused it. I would like to RMA these two XFX 8800 GTS 640 MB cards that I have, and get them replaced. I would like them replaced with a newer/upgraded model if possible, and I am willing to pay a difference if I have to. How can we do this process and what would be comparable/an upgrade to the 8800 GTS 640 MB cards I have? I figured you guys would have some older, but better cards than what I have now to replace them with. Please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated. Best Regards, James T

[ERIK_A 4/23/2010 5:50:17 PM] Please email a copy of your original sales invoice to erik.adams@xfxforce.com. For any card over one year old we have to verify the original purchase date to show that the card was registered within the first thirty days and still qualifies for warranty service. Verify that your Account Information has your current contact phone number and mailing address that someone will be able to sign for a package, FedEx requires these things when shipping anything in case they have to contact you about delivery, (no PO boxes allowed for FedEx shipments) and we can escalate this for RMA evaluation to get your XFX product serviced. Thank you.

[ 4/23/2010 7:27:58 PM] Hello, I have sent you an email reply to erik.adams@xfxforce.com with the invoices/sales reciepts for both cards attached as PDF files. I also wrote the following in the email: Hello, In my support ticket (296980) you requested that I email you the invoices for the graphics cards I have to make sure they were registered within 30 days of purchase. They both were. I have attached the invoices to this email. I have two of these graphics cards, both are giving me problems, and I need an RMA on both of them. I would greatly appreciate if they were replaced with a newer model of equal or greater value and/or performance. After doing some research on the net since I`ve had problems with my 8800 GTS 640 cards, I found there are a lot of people that have had similar issues/problems with these cards.. I feel a bit cheated and disappointed with XFX right now because of the XFX 8800GTS 640MB cards I bought. They definitely weren`t worth the money they cost in regards to performance/reliability. Even in SLi, the two XFX 8800GTS 640 cards I purchased, perform poorly, run hotter, and use more energy than any card in their price range. I`m sure you guys have something a little newer/better laying around that would be a great replacement/upgrade with better performance and reliability. I love XFX and I know you are a great company that takes care of your customers and makes excellent, high quality products. The XFX 8800 GTS 640 MB cards that I got just happened to be one of those deals where it just simply isn`t worth the money I paid. I`m sure you guys will make this right, and resolve this issue the best way that you can, in a timely manner. XFX never let me down before, so I`m sure I won`t be disappointed with this RMA process. I really have no idea of what other cards are similar in value with better performance/reliability than these 8800GTS 640MB cards that I have. What are the options I have in regards to exchanging these two XFX 8800GTS 640 MB cards for something different? I may even be willing to try an ATI card or cards in exchange for these XFX Geforce 8800GTS 640MB cards I have. I would really like to stick with Nvidia, but you guys are the professionals, so I`m sure you`ll come up with the best solution for me. I just wanted to let you know that it`s an option that I`m willing to consider if needed. I would also consider exchanging both of my cards for one card, as long as the one card I get in exchange is faster/more reliable, and at least has double the bandwidth/power of my two 8800 GTS 640 cards in SLi. I greatly appreciate your assistance and understanding with this matter. Hopefully we can get this RMA resolved ASAP so I don`t have two bad graphics cards laying around, and so I can get my gaming PC back up and running the way it should be. If you need anything else, please let me know :) Thanks, James T

[ 4/23/2010 7:46:04 PM] Is this RMA for both of the XFX 8800 GTS 640 cards that I have? Thanks for your assistance with this :)
