Yesterday I answered an advert in the Evening Mail, pg 35 Thurs 3o July.
Immediate Start - Trainee Managers with opportunities for Progression. I rang the telephione no quoted 0121 222 2565 and I was asked to go for an interview at 11:45 at Aspect Court, 4 Temple Row Birmingham,I was told there were jobs available in HR, Marketing, PR & Accounting. I was told there would also be a short presentation concerrning the Company. When I arrived I was shown into a room with about 15 other candidates. We were give a hard sell presentation by a guy called Mr Alphonso Emmanuel. He went on and on about hard work, NLP and how he could tell if someone would be a sucess by looking at them. The presentation laste about 2 hours Basically it is a Franchise and you are self employed. No tmuch was said about the Project. You have an assessment period of 2 weeks followed by concession training of 4 - 6 weeks and 2 weeks to learn Admin. From what I can make out they give you a monthly amount out of which you pay yourself & staff. There was no actual interview we told to ring back at a certain time for the result. I'd like to bet that everyone in that room was told Yes!I am concerned that there were a lot of vulnerable people in that room who could easily get sucked in to what is probably a scam. No mention was made od whatwould happen if you didn't manage to sell anything! I come from a Telecoms background! If the big boys are losing money what chance has anyone else? My advice don't touch itwith a Bargepole. They said they were also recruiting in London, Newcastle, Manchester - cant reember all the places but it as pretty much Nationwide.

It has been brought to my attention that some people may have been unfairly treated by some of our field sales franchisees.

If this is true then this is completely unacceptable to me and to XLN.

I want to make it clear that inappropriate people management has never been tolerated within XLN and never will be tolerated. I also want you to know that we have reviewed our field sales operation and have completely restructured it, so that we are now only using experienced people orientated trainers and managers, recruiting

only experienced field sales staff and reengineering the recruitment, training and sales processes so that the whole team can feel informed and fairly valued.

We appreciate very much the feedback we have received from people who feel they have not been properly treated by the old training process.

As a responsible company we treasure our staffs that are the backbone of our organisation. We would never do anything to disadvantage them.

I would like to make it clear that my door is always open to anyone who has any concerns about XLN and if anyone has any specific complaints about how they have been treated then please feel free to contact me in writing at XLN Telecom Ltd, The Brewery Building, 69, Bondway, London SW8 1SQ or by email christian.ceo@xlntelecom.co.uk

I especially want to hear if someone feels they have not been properly paid for the work they have carried out. If this is the case then I will personally make sure this situation is rectified.

XLN is a very successful company which has grown hugely over recent years because of the efforts of its staff who are properly and promptly rewarded.

XLN has an excellent reputation in the telecoms business, a reputation which has been hard earned and a reputation that XLN is determined to keep.
