I got the radio at a truck stop . and went online and paid for a years service. about 3 months the truck I was driving got hit by lighting and fried everything in the truck including the XM radio.  I called XM and all they can do is sell me another. I toald them no thanks and to close my account. they did, I thought that that was the last of them .. then a year later they took from my checking account $101.00 for another years service.
I called them and they said they will return my funds. but hear I am a year later and No refund. they do keep sending my subscription letters. Thanks XM I almost forgot to post a ripoff report..

Agreed. The best way to solve this problem is to never use their services again. Bravo.

The best way to close an XM account...

Is doing it online..just like you did to activate and pay for service. Specifically go to XM listener care web address [[https://xmro-secure.xmradio.com/listenercare/login.xm]]

The problem when doing it by phone, is customer service is outsourced to India..so need I say more?

As far as the refund the best way to handle this is by mail...try this..

Informal Claim Resolution: To initiate an informal resolution to a Claim, you must send a notice by first class United States mail to SIRIUS XM Radio Inc., 1221 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10020, Attention: XM Listener Care

If you try to do this by phone the CSRs in India will probably again attempt to mislead and you will never get canceled properly or collect what is owed to you. While I think the programming itself is a great service and not very expensive for what you get...their downfall may be customer service issues.

Most subscribers only have to deal with them to activate..which is why it is better to activate online in the first place. So most subscribers will never have to deal with India and they will be satisfied.

However, if something goes wrong or you wish to cancel..best of luck. There are no Sirius or XM satellites in India so the customer service reps have never even seen or used a satellite radio...how are they going to help with any technical issues? As far as canceling service..well of course they will discourage it any way possible, that is how they make money. And all customers are in auto renewal when they sign up..so it is important to cancel the right way..and not call India where you can get curried chicken and a run around/language barrier issues..but no real customer service.
