I searched my name on google and found that my Private Domain registration had a link to my legal name. A total no-no that defeats the purpose of a Private Domain registration. This is a story of how I tried to resolve this issue with Yahoo Small Business, their proxy myprivacy.com, google, and domain tools. Myprivacy never responded to this issue. Yahoo Small Business ignored my concerns. Google stated they have no responsibility for this. DomainTools was rather curt and blamed Google. As far as I am concerned, I purchased private registration services from Yahoo Small Business and it was their responsibility to protect my domain privacy. This never got resolved. At the end, when I spoke to a rep at Yahoo Small Business, she refused to listen to my concerns and tried to put the blame on me because I was closing the account.

The other issue remains an inability to transfer this domain to godaddy.com. Yahoo Small Business reps gave poor and incomplete information on this process. The rep I talked with told me about a security code # on their manager that I copied. I attempted to use this to transfer the domain but I got a message that is was formatted incorrectly. They incorrectly format their codes. When I requested a call back, they never called me back.

So, as a result of their shenanigans,to put it nicely, I have a domain that I cannot transfer because myprivacy, their proxy associated with Yahoo refuses to issue codes. I cancelled my service with Yahoo and will not receive a refund, so I am out about $50.00 for lost services. Mylegal name was associated with my domain, so privacy was violated. I have a pending domain transfer with godaddy that I cannot complete that cost me $26.00, with private extras that will probably never be completed, and I truly found out what an unethical company Yahoo Small Business is to deal with. I waste hours resubmitting my requests to myprivacy at least 10 times with follow up emails that were ignored. I will have to figure out a new domain name now. At least, for now, my legal name is not publicly associated with my domain, but what good is a domain when you cannot even transfer it?

A total nightmare. Do not use this company. Other domain sites and web host systems are cheaper and much more pleasant to deal with, and actually have customer service.
