1) Yatrofsky AC techincian did not find the problem

Called Yatrofsky to fix my air conditioner on July 19, 2005, as my AC was not cooling the house. The technician Joe Jr showed me that the capacitor was rusted in the bottom and replaced the capacitor, but the AC did not work. Then he said the connector was not working becuase of ants and replaced it. When he turned on the unit, the whole house lost power. When I asked him why, he was unable to give me a satisfactory answer. Upon turning on the mains, Joe Jr made attempts to fix the AC and failed. He said the voltage on the outside unit was 110V and he needed to send an electrician to make it 220V. Joe Jr asked for a payment of $319 ($69 for service call, $231 for the parts + tax). I refused payment and spoke to Joe's manager at Yatrofsky, indicating I will make payment when my AC was fixed.

2) Yatrofsky did not fix my AC and charged me $319

Yatrofsky sent an electrician from Gold Medal Electric to take care of the 220V on the outside unit. The electrician made some questionable repair and said the AC was working. I made the payment of $319, as required by Yatrofsky. Fifteen minutea after the electricain left, the fan on the outside unit and the AC, stopped working. I called Yatrofsky again, and the electrician came back and said he had taken care of his part of the problem and that Yatrofsky would send a senior AC technician...

3) Yatrofsky broke my AC so they can sell a new one

Several phone calls later, an AC technician came at 9:30 PM in the evening. He looked around in the dark, with a torch, and said the connections made by Joe Jr was all wrong. He said he fixed it. Around 10:30 PM in the night, he said he fixed the problem and left. Needless to say, AC did not work...

4) Yatrofsky - licensed to cheat?

Next day, I called Yatrofsky to fix my AC and they sent someone who gave me a quote for a new AC at $7000. They didn't seem to care when I said I would report them on the internet. I find them unprofessional and deceitful.

5. In conclusion

The Yatrofsky website (http://yourplumber.com/) claims that they are "What good service is all about". They made 5 trips to my house, but sent me technicians who broke my AC completely and are now unscrupolously trying to sell and insatll a new AC.

On July 22, 2005, I had a technicain from RUUD authorised dealer JJG Enterprises evaluate and tell me that 'everything about my AC is wrong' at a charge of $153. My AC worked fine until the day before Yatrofsky came to fix my AC...
