Okay, so this is the worst resale app ever. Yerdle poses as a community that is concerned about waste, so to reduce waste the community is there for people to sell their unwanted items to people that do want them. All a wonderful concept, except....

What do you get when people spend real money on your stuff? You don't get real money in return, not even a percentage point of real money, no. You get yerdle credits which can only be used to buy more stuff on the app. And 95% of the stuff people are selling on their is total junk and totally overpriced. I had 200+ yerdle credits and couldn't put a dent in that ammount even though I was checking the app constantly for stuff to buy...

But okay, let's say you find something you like. And hey, you have a ton of yerdle credits so it's not gonna cost you a thing, right? Oh no. You're gonna pay $7 in shipping and a $2 service fee, in real money. Your yerdle credits won't cover that.

The worst part is that none of this is made super clear to you when you sign up for the app.

If you're looking to get rid of your stuff, donate it to a thrift store.

Yerdle is a consignment site. They are still a new company when compared to other similar companies. Their app has seen considerable improvement over the past few months and, as a result, they've had an increase in users. When creating an account, users are encouraged to explore the help section, which has a wealth of information. The help section can be viewed before even creating an account. In the FAQs, the user learns that Yerdle's business plan is to help reduce the global footprint bring made by producing so many goods and throwing away the unused. There is, of course, going to be overhead associated with having any business.

That is why they are transparent that when you claim a listing, you're responsible for fronting the $5 for the prepaid shipping label to receive the item (very reasonable considering how expensive shipping is) plus a service fee between $1-4 for up to 4 items from a single giver. For $6-$9, a user can get something that they need or want while the other person can pass it along to someone who needs or wants it, instead of throwing it away. In return, the giver received YRD (Yerdle reusable dollars), which can be spent on items being given on the site. Those items obviously vary in value and are priced according to the giver's choice. There are, however, items that have value based on demand. I highly recommend looking into Yerdle before forming a judgment from this user's review. I've personally gained so much and appreciate both the cause and the benefits.
