Since taking over the development of GameMaker this company has run the project into the ground. Promising new and innovative features while partially delivering on some and not at all on most. Some of the most basic and essential features of a Rapid Application Development platform have been continuously been deprecated and removed.

The latest update brings deprecation of isometric games. Nearly every time I load a project from a previous version it is corrupted by their overly sensitive DRM protection. I can no longer even run the software without an active internet connection which makes using it on the go impossible since version 8.1

With every new release something else is broken or removed making this one of the most precarious and self-destructive RAD tools available. In addition created content is highly vulnerable to reverse engineering and decompiling with games constantly being stolen in addition to being a slow and interpreted programming language written in Delphi. You should seriously consider experimenting with other game engines and RAD tools before even thinking about going near this program. Be forewarned, you will only be met with dissapointment and constant frustration.
