Hello, I am a recent victim of Zales. I live off of my student loans and I do not have very much money. I sacraficed and saved enough money to buy my friend something nice (so I thought) for Valentine's day. I went to Zales and all of the Jewelry was marked off for their Valentines day sale. Most of it was 70% off. I fell in love with a diamond ring with 4 diamonds at the top of the ring. The ring is simply lovely and my friend loves the ring. Unfortunately, we noticed yesterday that one of the diamonds were missing and the other three diamonds look like they are holding on for dear life.
I visited the store I purchased the ring from and showed them the ring. The sales rep. told me that they would get an estimate for how much it will cost "ME" to get the ring fixed. MIND you the ring is less than 2 months old. I purchased the ring on 2/13/2009 and noticed the diamond missing on 3/30/2009. The other diamonds are out of place and look like they are about to fall out also. My friend can no longer wear the ring because the diamonds are so loose. Not only did ZALES refuse to help me with the ring but I called and informed them that I was on my way to the store and when I got there at 7:50 (they close at 8:00) they had the doors locked. I had informed the sales rep. that I was on my way to the store and she locked the doors.
It is shameful that a large Corporation such as Zales would treat its customers in such a way. With todays economy people can not afford to buy the extra things such as Jewelry but those who sacrafice to get their loved oneS something nice should not get ripped off like this. I refuse to let this pass. I will stand in front of that store everyday for the next week and hand out flyers with a picture of my ring with the diamond missing and a copy of my receipt to show how recent I purchased the ring. If I can deter "one" person from shopping there, I have done my job. I also plan on filing a claim against ZALES THE RIP OFF STORE, in small claims court. Companies wonder why they are suffering financially, maybe they should reconsider how they treat consumers.
LOVELY

Things I forgot to mention

Did I mention I paid $500 for the ring after the discount. The receipt for the ring says its a pre-owned ring. The ring was advertised as a new ring on sale for Valentines day. I asked the sales rep. why the receipt says pre-owned and she said she had to ring it up that way inorder to manipulate the register to give the discount. When I took the ring back to the store they used that against me, well it is pre-owned we can't help you. I think that is called MISREPRESENTATION when you tell someone something that you know is false so they will make a purchase.
