While shopping for skincare on Amazon, I received a popup offering a free serum trial for $4.95 shipping cost only.  I thougth this was a great deal and said yes.  What I did not know because it was not obviously visible to me is that by agreeing to this "free trial" , I actually signed up for a revolving contract taht would not only charge me for this first bottle after 14 days but also put me on monthly auto ship / bill for this serum, at a cost of 98.41 / bottle.  It still hurts to say the amount.

The first charge that appeared on my card, I missed.  I thought it was a restaurant and didn't take any action.  Then, I received another serum bottle.  This is when I got suspicious as I did not order anything from these people, or so I thought.  I called the 800 number listed on the packing list and after not being able to "find my account" the rep simply hung up on me.  It was at this point that I knew I was scammed.  I called back again , 2x.  Finally, they cancelled my "membership", but would not agree to refund the $200 for a return (I didn't even use the serums).

So, I reported this to my credit card company and filed a dispute.  They told me they get these all the time.  I am hopeful that I can recover this money.

After this, I was trying to see where this company was registered or any other information and could not find one single piece of information about them.  The customer service said they were "3rd party" and would not disclose the name of their company for "security purposes".  What does that mean?

I really want to get the word out about these jerks and the audacity of charging this much money.
