Zero Draft Insulation & Windows - Simonton Windows Kennebunk Atrocious Service Disorderly Profane Owner ripoff Kennebunk Maine

I ordered an insulated window for my house from Zero Draft Insulation and Windows in Kennebunk, Maine back in May of 2005. I paid a deposit and was never told by my salesman when the window arrived (I found out through a friend by accident). I called the salesman (Joseph V. "Skip" Finn III) many times and never received a call back. I spoke with the owner (Bruce Monroe)and never received a call back from him either as to when my window could be installed.

I was finally promised an installation date by Finn and I took an extra day off work so I could be there for the installation, and the crew never showed up. I called the company and got the owner, who assured me he would take care of everything and stated he would call me before the end of the day. Neither the owner nor Skip the salesman called me.

Over a few weeks I called every day to remind them I needed this job finished. I was given excuses that their "window installer" had hurt his hand and that the owner was in cancer treatments (Cancer is terrible, and my dad and a friend have both survived cancer, so I have empathy). Still, if you can't run your business, maybe you should close down for a while or find someone else to run it.

I continued to call Zero Draft every day and continued to be told they were looking for an installer to do the job. Finally, I told an employee of Zero Draft that I wouldn't recommend their company to anyone based on the runaround I had gotten. I know lots of people and if Zero Draft could have done right by me, by just calling me back and keeping me abreast of what was happening, I may have been able to give them substantial business by referral to my friends and acquaintances.

Bruce Monroe called me and asked if I would stop by the office. I did, and he immediately began swearing at me and over-using the word "f***" and it's derivatives and yelling at me with his voice raised. I just told him to give me my deposit back. To his credit, Monroe did give me my deposit back, plus $100 extra "for my trouble" (yeah, no guilty conscience there) but he then made an inference that he could possibly harm my position as a public safety worker in this town, stating he knows the selectpeople and that he is on the Rotary, etc.

Zero Draft Insulation and Windows in Kennebunk, Maine is the very worst place I have ever made the mistake of doing business with. It's salesman, Skip Finn, doesn't follow through and it's owner, Bruce Monroe, can't seem to hire the employees he needs to get a job done and then when the customer gets mad about the situation, Bruce Monroe swears at the customer and threatens their jobs and tries to make himself seem like some kind of big shot, when all he is ia a sorry old blowhard who has no idea how to run a business or treat his customers.

At Zero Draft, the customer is always wrong.
