Store # NY34 Ziebart Store 374 Fluvanna Ave Jamestown, NY 14701 One of the worst experiences with a vehicle service of any kind. I purchased a rust protection package at Ziebart of Jamestown which included 3 items Rust Protection, Undercoating, ‎Sound Deadener The sales pitch by Mr. McXullen said they would discount these three products if I agreed to a bundled 10-year Structural Protection maintenance package that included a yearly re-treatment.

Rust Protection: During the sales process it was described to me in detail that the Rust Protection would be applied inside the doors compartments, frame, and engine compartment. This representation was accurate and applied correctly where it was applied. Unfortunately they missed most of the crucial areas of the frame, rocker panels, and the rear hatch door.

This was verified at my expense by an independent inspection provided by a third party as well as another Ziebart shop. Overall by far the best part of this service. Despite the fact that it needed follow-up re-treatment on frame, rocker panels, and the rear hatch door that were missed. After re-treatment I would pay the full asking price of $159.00 Undercoating: During the sales process it was described to me in detail that the Undercoating would be applied to all areas under the vehicle and it seal out the rust.

I questioned if I could reschedule because it had rained it was muddy and the vehicle had large amounts of mud covering most of the bottom. I was worried that the mud and moisture may have a negative effect on the application. Mr. McXullen assured me that they do this all the time and they would thoroughly clean the undercarriage of the car.

It would not have a negative affect and they would remove the spare and be sure to coat all areas. This was a gross miss representation. They did not prepare the undercarriage at all, large areas were missed, and crucial areas were left covered in mud. The undercoating was starting to flake off before I was able to get the vehicle to local shop less than 10 miles away. Even after re-treatment, to this day large areas are flaking off where there were large chunks of mud were left underneath.

So to say I was irate that would be an understatement, I was disappointed and angry to see my brand-new $40,000 vehicle with basically a trashed undercarriage. There is no easy way to fix this without spending even more money to somehow strip it off. The undercoating was by far the most disappointing, sloppiest rotten part of this package. Their fix was to retreat the areas where the mud is flaking off with the undercoating. That not a fix, it’s a bandage.

There is no way that I will allow them to touch my vehicle again. This is why the 10-year Structural Protection maintenance package is not an option. This part of the package is not even worth the on sale price of $99.00 but would agree to that. Sound Deadener: During the sales process it was described to me in detail that the Sound Deadener would be applied to all areas that surround the interior cab including the wheel wells and it is.

Sound Deadener effectively increases the barrier between you and the road. Four times thicker than undercoating, the Sound Deadener is an insulated layer of protection that reduces road noise while also providing your vehicle a boost of defense. It appears that they did a great job on part of one of the wheel wells but must have run out of sound proofing. Only one wheel well was done and in re-treatment it was never addressed.

This treatment I am not willing to pay for. The one little part that was treated was sloppy and poorly done. This poor application has affected the resale value of the Vehicle. Anyone that knows what they are looking at will notice. Misrepresentations: The Main discrepancy is that they never even submitted the complete billing to the bank.

They are selling a 10-year Structural Protection maintenance package including 3 products that were described in detail. Ziebart failed to deliver any of them as promised. Even after a second application they have failed to deliver as promised. I do not want to deal with them for next ten years. I wanted nothing to do with them after 1 hour of seeing what they did to my vehicle. I am willing to pay regular price for two of the treatments they did deliver.

I am not will to pay for a 10-year Structural Protection maintenance package that they cannot deliver. Under its terms on the contract it was canceled in writing within hours of discovering the discrepancy. I am not looking for anything free. I am also not looking to pay for something I didn’t get. Rust Protection: no preparation as promised, poorly installed on first application, lack of coverage was addressed on second application.

Disposition: Not stratified that no consideration for inconvenience or negotiation because of the cancellation of the 10-year Structural Protection maintenance package and yearly re-treatment. I will consider this Delivered complete and would pay a regular price based on the $159.00 normally charged Undercoating: Not stratified at all.

A complete disaster that I will have to find a way to deal with for the remainder of the years that I will own it. It is currently pealing and it will peal until all the muddy areas under the undercoating have given away to the elements and ware and tare. This part of the package is not even worth the on sale price of $99.00, but would agree to that. Sound Deadener: Not stratified at all. This is so poorly done.

It is nonexistent and the one wheel well that is treated makes it appear there may be damage on that part of the car not willing to pay for that. The bottom line is that this whole bad experience was avoidable if Mr. Crandill would have just allowed me to cancel the 10-year Structural Protection maintenance package and allow me to pay for the packages that were delivered. I could have walked away and just been unhappy with the quality. Now I face having to pay for something I didn’t get nor will be able to receive.

The bank has failed to investigate both sides of this claim. They did not provide a way for me to supply my copy of documentation and evidence. I called the bank several times and received no return calls. They have not even supplied a proper invoice. The merchant provided a fake work order that doesn’t even match the amount disputed amount or the work that was performed. I am disappointed in this process that has not collected any correct information.

As for Mr. Crandills comments that I threaten his business, again he has taken every opportunity to provoke a negative response and twisted my words to his meanings. The only promise that I made him was that I would be sharing this experience publicly through social media. That is my first amendment right of freedom of speech.

I told him that I may do many things he may not like all of them would be proper and legal as this is a breach of contract. Mr. Crandill has taken that as a threat and implied a threat back. All he had to do was the honorable thing. What’s fair for everyone? Let me pay for what I did receive? No! His idea of fair is to deliver a poorly executed Job, and collect money for something he did not provide and will never provide.

As for me leaving the second application satisfied, that is not correct. I was satisfied that I left without more damage to my vehicle, the owner of that Ziebart failed to deliver what he promised as well. Unfortunately he was not there to deliver what he promised. Other than that, after reviewing the job that your shop did on the vehicle they agreed that many things were missed and also saw the pealing and reapplied over it.

They did invest more time into the work than your shop did. It took them an hour and a half for those minor touch-ups that’s more time than your shop spent with the original application. I didn’t raise an issue with Sound Deadener. I just wanted to get the rest of my vehicle undercoated and treated as large areas were untreated and the job was so botched that no other shops would get involved, the bank was taking forever to settle and I needed to protect my investment.

So I allowed West Seneca Ziebart finish the undercoating. I did as Mr. Crandill requested and let West Seneca Ziebart inspect that what I was saying was true. Obviously it needed at least an hour and a half of work. I sent pictures that were verified not only by a third party but by another Ziebart. Mr. Crandill said he would refund he just need to look at it and verify it.

It would be nice if Mr. Crandill could do something he said he would do. Needless to say I will be disputing this decision and filing a complaint that the bank failed to properly research this claim Pictures and video to come please watch for the YouTube link. they will clearly show what a horrible application of an undercoating and the lack there of.

Ziebart has addressed all issues

AUTHOR: Pete - (United States)

POSTED: Saturday, March 09, 2019

The store manager came up with a great solution for everyone. They have touched up the areas that were blocked by the spare tire. If I had known they were going to address the issues this well, I would not have filed this report. Ziebart has addressed the issues to my satisfaction. Thank you for your great customer service.

Positive progress update

AUTHOR: Pete - (United States)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 27, 2019

There has been a positive development. The details are not clear yet, but as a result an internal investigation it appears that this may have been a mistake on the part of an employee that was already under review and in the process of being removed. I appreciate Zeibart’s efforts to get to the bottom of the issues.

They have promised a fair and reasonable solution to this issue as soon as they have reviewed all the details and it becomes clear what can be done to resolve the issue fairly. If they are able remedy this issue to my satisfaction I will ask that this report be removed. I will update as more details or a solution become available.

More to the scam

AUTHOR: Pete - (United States)

POSTED: Saturday, February 23, 2019

Do not sign the credit slip or pay them until you have looked under your vehicle. Chances are they did not complete the job. If you have a spare tire be sure to look under it, they do not bother to treat under it.

First thing is that I agreed to three products: Rust Protection, Undercoating, ‎Sound Deadener They are described in detail below. They made me pay up front for everything. In order to proceed with the work they made me sign the work order and credit card receipt in advance before they provided any kind of work or product.

So as far as a face to face transaction, I was not able to inspect anything prior to signing the credit slip.  The credit slip and work order were both signed prior to receiving merchandise and/or services purchased. So there was no way for me inspect any merchandise and/or services being purchased prior to signing the slip. An order without delivery

This is in violation of Visa policy. In good faith, to maintain a fair policy for the exchange and return of merchandise and for resolving disputes over merchandise and/or services purchased with a payment card. If a transaction is for non-returnable, non-refundable merchandise, this must be indicated on all copies of the sales draft before the cardholder signs it. A copy of your return policy must be displayed in public view. Ziebart did not adhere to this Visa policy either. They made guaranties that constitute breach of contract. They agreed to a refund if they could inspect the botched job. They got their inspection they still refuse to refund. Ziebart submitted paperwork that was not correct; the work order is not even for the correct amount. This is going to court I need to know why in writing Ziebart was allowed to breach the Visa credit card policies.

I hereby request Visa to review this clam. It was a purchase that was made as credit. I also formally request all records even the fake inaccurate ones that the merchant submitted. They have purposely misrepresented the truth and the facts. They have not even accurately described what they are selling me! Under the rules of common sense and visa they are required to accurately describe the merchandise and/or services in question.

My original claim was that I did not receive the merchandise and/or services that was promised or agreed to that is the factual truth, and Ziebart agreed that they failed to complete the product and services as agreed and promised. The details of the facts are below. The owner agreed to compensate me for the botched job he has not negotiated anything fair. I want out of the 10year warranty part. I want to pay the $99 undercoating, I will also pay $159.00 for the Rust Protection. This is what I received and only thing they delivered poorly after the second inspection.

The quality of the job bordered on vandalism, I have already submitted documentation on the fact the job was not completed. I will obtain another statement and include pictures of the first inspection showing the fact they sprayed over mud and mud chunks. Even though this is irrelevant based on the fact that I am looking for a refund on the part of the service I have not received yet. They agree that the job was botched and not completed, that is not the part of the purchase in dispute. I refuse to let them service my vehicle every year for the next 10 years. That is the part that I did not receive nor do I want it at this point.  Maybe you have lost the evidence already submitted I will resubmit again.

The pictures will show that they sprayed over the top of mud spatter and chunks, the pictures that show the areas that were missed were covered by other overhangs and or the spare tire that is why they were missed. It also shows how clean the surfaces should have been, they were not muddy because they were covered by the spare tire. They promised to remove and treat under the spare tire. However large areas of the undercarriage were exposed to mud splatter that were never cleaned as promised and were recklessly sprayed over sealing in mud chunks and spatter. It is now pealing.
