If you research you will find pages and pages of people complaining about the accuracy of the information on Zillow. You will also see that the majority of these people are indicating that Zillow will do nothing to correct their information. They had my property value estimated at $94,975.00 which is less than I paid 2 1/2 years ago when my property was in pre-foreclosure at a discounted price. I sent them a request and pointed out that my most recent tax assessment was $104,400.00 and that they had just sent me an e-mail with comparable listings in my area showing two properties for $118,000.00 and $122,000.00 with less square footage and / or less rooms than my home. I also was told by Zillow that they will do nothing to correct their information. I fortunately am not currently wanting to sell my home but I feel for those who are and are having incorrect information posted on the internet about their property. Once again, why are companies being allowed to do these things? What happened to consumer rights?

This Zestimate nonsense is costing innocent homeowners their hard earned equity when they go to sell, and a class action is way overdue! Please see my recent post.

When 17% of Zillows 106 million Zestimates are over 25% inaccurate it is an outrage that they refuse all homeowner requests to correct or delete the erroneous valuation. As they have demonstrated that they cannot be trusted to act in a fair minded way towards homeowners it is time that some form of Regulation was introduced to protect homeowners from misery and potential financial damage as without any doubt inaccurate Zestimates influence buyers.
At the very least homeowners should have the option to opt of of Zillows nonsense by registering with a DoNotZestimate webiste in the same way as Phone users can opt out of unwanted calls by registering with DoNotCall.

Zillows zestimates do not match the county's tax assessment. I just had this conversation with a Zillow representative today and their zestimate is approximately $10,000.00 less than my assessed value which I have a copy of. Sign me up for the class action lawsuit!
