They arrived several hours late in a yellow rental type standard moving truck that was already over three quarters full to move our one bedroom apartment. We were charged for more space in the truck then he had space for us to use.
The driver was rude and hateful demanding cashier check, money order in payment. My contract in hand stated credit card and it was not until a phone call was made to the company that he agreed to put our things in the truck.
We thought it strange that no padding for the furniture was brought into the apartment. It wasn't until the furniture was unloaded in Texas that we realized why. No padding was ever put on the furniture as was evidenced by the damage to every single piece of it.
We were told 3 to 10 days delivery time. Delivery took 22 days. We had to stay in motels and dine in restaurants for two weeks at great expense because of their misleading delivery schedule. During that time we were treated rudely and lied to to the point I called the police and told them I thought I had just paid this company to steal my possessions.
We knew there would be no charge for the first flight of stairs and additional flights would be charged at $75.00 per flight. What we weren't told was they considered a flgiht of stairs to be 10 steps. We were charged another $75.00 flight of stairs even though the new apartment was on the second floor.
I told them there was not access for a 53' semi truck at the Texas location. At no extra charge, our things were suppose to be put in a smaller truck that could access the apartment complex and be within the 75 ft carry. The driver called me and warned me that things got damaged when moved to a smaller truck especially if he saw he didn't need to bring the smaller truck when he got there.
He insisted on bringing the 53' semi, parking it away from the complex, hiring two locals to carry and charging us another $300 for long carry. Also he refused to open the truck and let us examine the contents until he was paid. No wonder .... our furniture was badly damaged and he knew it.
To top it all off, he got huffy when we didn't give him a tip.
Missing items have yet to be return to us.

I would first like to apologize for the inconvenience. We were not aware of the situation at the time as Mrs. Becky ******* never contacted us regarding this issue after her delivery date of 8/20/05. In regards to her complaint that the movers showed up in a yellow rental, our truck assigned to pick up her belongings had mechanical problems that needed to be addressed. Zip to Zip had no choice but to pick up her belongings in a rental truck.
As to Mrs. Becky *******'s complaint that she was told a delivery time frame of 3-10 days and we showed up 22 days later; Mrs. ******* was made well aware of the delivery time frame of up to 21 Business days (due to "Godly Acts"), as it is written in her Terms & Conditions that she signed prior to pick up.
In regards to Mrs. *******'s complaint that she feels she was over charged for an additional flight(s) of stairs, again we were not aware of this until now. We wish Mrs. ******* would have called after her delivery to inform us of the matter as we had another incident with the same driver as the customer called to notify us. He was fired on the spot!
Zip to Zip was made aware that Mrs. ******* did not have access for a 53" truck, this is why it is disclosed in the Terms & Conditions that there will be a $150.00 charge for each long carry (75 feet).
Regarding the missing items, Mrs. ******* simply had to call the office to notify us and we would have explained the claims process to her as she was provided with valuation coverage for her move.
Zip to Zip would be willing to provide supporting documents upon request.
Since the contract does not disclose the 10 steps in a flight of stairs, Zip to Zip is willing to reimburse Mrs. ******* for a flight of stairs, which she feels should not have been charged for($75.00).
Again, Zip to Zip apologizes for the mishap.
Thank you for your time and please do not hesitate to contact me if you should have any questions.
Best Regards,
Julianne Kilgour
