Zom Residential - The Harbor At Lake Howell Apartments Many Health Department Pool Violations 50 People Sick Did Nothing and Harrasment ripoff Casselberry Florida

I am writing to complain about Zom Residential properties. My boyfriend and I were residents at the Harbor at Lake Howell in Casselberry, Florida. This property is managed by Zom. During the period of August of 2005 there was no chlorine in the pools and hot tub. The pool is highly used. We tested the pool with a professional test kit and there was zero chlorine for more than 30 days. We also tested for bacteria. The test results showed levels harmful to human health.

The reason that prompted us to test it was because 50+ people including children kept getting sick and the pool was the common denominator. Included were violent stomach viruses and terrible respiratory infections. Children were terribly sick and dozens of people missed work for several days, some being commission based people. In addition hundreds was spent on medical bills and prescriptions.

Channel 6 news did a story on TV about the serious problem. We found out Zom had been cited 6 times in 4 years by the Health Department for unsafe pool conditions. One time live crawfish were living in the bottom of the pool.

Jenny Hansen is the manager at the Harbor. When we confronted her she denied having any knowledge and called Hazardous Materials. The Health Department shut down the pool. We later found out and have written documentation from the pool company that she knew of the problem 30 days before and did nothing. The resident's health at the Harbor at Lake Howell was at serious risk and the property manager did nothing. The senior executives at Zom were made aware of the problem and did nothing as well.

The President, Steve Buck, Vice-President Fred Pierce, and Regional Manager Dawn Price were all aware of the problem. They did nothing which is complete negligence.

We have documentation from the pool company showing zero chlorine even being added

Thanksgiving weekend of 2005 we were away for 5 days. We came back to a noise complaint on the door that stated if we get more we will be evicted. We went to the office to say it wasn't us we were away and they were very loud and refused to take it out of our file and baited us. We agreed since they were not happy with the news thing we would leave peacefully, prorate the months rent and be out in a week with no termination fees.

Three weeks ago in March of 2006 were guests of friends there and were trespassed and told if seen back on the property the police would be called and arrests made.

All we asked originally was our medical bills paid and/or $100 off next months rent for putting our lives and health at risk. Now we have contacted an attorney and will be suing for extreme health risk and harassment. Thank you for your time.
