i have been looking fo AN APARTMENT in Vista, california, I saw this great deal in Craigslist and immmediately contacted the person listed in Craigslist. The person who answered the phone, Douglas, said he was just the tenant and told me that he had agreed to show the property and he was also going to provide the information that i needed to apply for the appartment.
He sent me an email with a link to Zumper website, and the owners email which is byui@houserebate.com, he also said that the application fee was going to be $29.99 and it ended up being $50. I submitted my application online and the system showed Mark as the agent, but when I contacted Mark, the agent he said he was in New york and had nothing to do with this partment in California, I then sent an email to the owner, but he never replied back.
I also sent an email to Douglas, the tenant that provided the information and he said to contact the owner.
i really believe that the tenant is part of this scam.
They stole $50 from me and i am sure they have ripped off lots of people like me.
i just want people to be aware of this scam.

The tenant contacted me, stating that the owner had contacted him explaining that my application had ended up with another agent by mistake, and that he was going to look into it.
I believe now this was just all a misunderstanding, I was given the wrong info. by the tenant.
