This is a typical tactic that financial institution's use to do exactly what you said, squeeze you'. Often times in automotive loans where a debt is getting further and further behind and repossession is going to occur, the finance company will say whatever nice things they can say to you to give up anything you can without actually delivering on what they promised. I've seen this myself years ago when I had some credit problems. I was always real close to just getting that break I needed however when the time came, "im sorry we can't do this right now". So just hang in there, keep trying to make your payments. If your going to lose property if things continue to go this route, your better off saving your money. Sometimes paying what you can won't stop various collection action.

It seems that Ocwen won't even work with you until you fall behind on your payments - checking out their website - there is nowhere to go until you are facing foreclosure (guess they think until then that they can squeeze more money out of you).
