There were several adult pay-for-view movies that showed up on my bill. I contacted the company to let them know the charges were not mine as the time/date of the movies were during times we were sleeping or not at home. Therefore, the movies needed to be adjusted off the billing. The company would not make any adjustments until they reviewed the charges.

I waited and waited for an answer until finally I had to call them back to check the status. They informed me that they would not adjust off the erroneous charges because according to their investigation the movies were ordered from our house. I explained that it was not possible because of the conflicting times vs. the times we were at home. Try as I may, the company would not do anything about it and informed me that I was responsible to pay the bill.

Since I did not want this to impact my credit, which is VERY important to me, I would have to make monthly payments of $5.00, in protest, in addition to the usual monthly charges for cable service. Then, after several months, I had a mysterious credit on my account.

Apparently, the company decided to adjust some of the charges. It is now set up that someone has to actually make a phone call with a password before ordering any pay-for-view movies. I have never ordered PPV, nor do I know how. If the charges were mine, I would have paid them without any dispute. However, since this was not the case, I had to go through a lot of B.S. and still did not get satisfaction.

My most recent experience happened yesterday when I went into the Carson office to pay my bill. The woman informed me that I had a past due balance, in addition to the current charges. I said, "Excuse me? Past due? I did not receive a billing for one to be past due!" After she checked her records she found that my previous payment was posted twice, in error. Therefore, I did not receive a bill because the system said I owed $0.

Well, in reality I owed for the month. So, when I went to pay, I owed for two months!! Not to mention they tried to charge me a late fee of $3.00. I DON'T THINK SO. I had already written my check when I realized about the late fee, so I instructed them to apply it to my next bill. We will see how that goes.

In closing, I would like to say that it makes me uncomfortable to know that someone can charge movies, etc. to unknowing victims. THEN, the victims have to deal with the hassle of trying to get things straightened out and jeopardizing their credit. NOT FAIR!
The end.
