First of all I have been paying on the premium warrantee.  My compressor went out on my AC unit so I was informed that the entire condenser unit would have to be replaced.  I was informed that I would have to pay out of pocket $700 for parts and labor not covered and also noted the replacement condenser unit they plan to install is the cheapest model you can find made by Carrier.  If you ever have to get something changed out due to failure your two choices are:

1.   Take the inferior equipment they agree to repair the broken equipment with and pay the bogus additional charges they will not.

2.    Take the buyout which is so little you will never be able to replace your non working equipment.

This message is for my assigned service advisor who is handling my claim.
The technician from Grace Air Conditioning stated he was going to have to replace my outside AC condenser and he stated I would have to pay $700.00 out of pocket for the following (continued in another message). This should be covered under my warrantee I am paying for. Sunday night I informed the technician to hold off on doing any work until I get the $700.00 straightened out and talk to a representative about the low quality condenser they are replacing my existing unit with. 

I do know from past experience if I wanted a different until of higher quality I could pay the difference but in this case since my current condenser is a true carrier brand and not the cheap (Payne)condenser I deserve to have my unit replaced with one of the same make and dependability. Payne condensers have bad reviews and do not last. I have been paying my premiums on time for quite a while now and I do not deserve to have my home appliances replaced with inferior quality units when my current appliances were not of poor quality. 

Below is what the service technician stated I would have to pay for that are not covered by the warrantee company:

Disconnect $150.00 Copper Modifications (adjusting copper for new equipment) $250.00
Leveling (insure systems drainage) $100.00 Tubing and padding $125.00
Wiring $75.00 Total amount $700.00

I asked them then to just replace the compressor which is fully covered.  I talked to 2 customer service reps and a supervisor on 6 MAY 2013 and was told NO by each one.  They would not just replace the compressor only the entire condenser unit.  The cheap condensor is costing the company less than $1100.00.  My total cost $755.00.  The supervisors name was James and his extension is x4050. 

Their response which was canned and sent to me twice:

We have received your web inquiry. These out of pocket charges items are not covered on the contract. We do not match brand. If it is your choice not to pay the out of pocket costs and not willing to accept the replacement offerd, you are free to take a cash out. This means we will give you what it would have cost us to replace your unit. This would be the only option available to you. Please contact us at 800-992-3400, option #2 to obtain a cashout offer. If you require additional assistance or have any other questions, please respond to this web message. Otherwise, call First American directly at 800.992.3400, select Option 2 and Extension 3574 for existing claims.

Conclusion:  The company is a rip-off and does everything in their power to ensure thay get the most money out of the customer even especially when they end up replacing the customers parts and equipment covered.  If you value quality in your home and value dependability I recommend you never use this company.  If you own section 8 houseing/rental property then you probably will not worry about quality and this company may be a good fit for you.  You will still end up paying out of pocket for something.

This company's customer service other than their salespersonnel are very difficult to deal with and do not care about your needs.  They work for the company and are only interested in ensureing that the complaints never reach corporate.  Please take the time to review every complaint out on the internet concernign this company and help spread the work of their practices and substandard services.
