I purchased my gateway fx computer for school in 2009- by the end of 2011 the hard drive burned up.
My warranty was only for the first year- so I replaced the harddrive myself- but the system restore software I purchased from their site- (since it does't come with the computer) would never install properly- when I called for help they redirected me to a site to pay for the call- I paid but never got my pin to verify my payment- then had to call again to try to get the info over the phone. They wasted all of my available time that day to use my 20 minutes that I paid for. I spent all my time trying to retrieve the pin number that allows me talk to tech support- so I never got to talk to a tech support person ever- Then when I called back to use it they said it expired! and they wouldn't refund my money or reissue a new pin- I never got to talk to a tech support person and the problem is with their system- their software!
What a rip off! I will never buy another Gateway product- I will stick with Dxxx (((REDACTED)))- I have always used them in the past and have never regretted it. I have dell computers that still run great after 9 years!
