Let me tell you. I have only been a customer of Helio, Inc. for not even two days and have gone through literal HELL with these people!! I HIGHLY recommend EVERYONE STAY AWAY FROM HELIO, INC. !

I originally purchased the FIN from a Wireless Toys Store on 7th Street and Hatcher here in Phoenix, Arizona. This store is a story all within itself!! There are two brothers who own this store and are very pushy and short with their customers. One thing I will say about them is they charge a restocking fee on their phones should you decide to exchange the phone during your trial period. NOT COOL!! Well, there is so much more to this, but this report is about HELIO, INC.
So, on we go!

Upon signing up, after the store rep did a credit check on me, he informed me that I need to pay a $100 deposit. I said to him, I have a 740 fico score and NO other cellular company has asked me to pay a deposit. He was short with me and said pay it or forget it. So I really wanted to try out the FIN and get in on their monthly plan special of $99 a month for unlimited calling, local and long distance and have multi-media and internet for no extra cost. Also includes unlimited text and picture messaging. And you wondered why anyone would want to get out of this deal??
Try signing up with them yourself and you will know you made a HUGE mistake shortly thereafter.

I will now get brief as this can go on and on...

After finding out that the FIN is a terrible phone (of course I never was a Samsung fan. Most of their phone are horribly bad by comparison with LG and Nokia and even Motorola), I returned it and then went to Fry's Electronics to purchase the Ocean phone by Pantech. Everyone was bragging this phone up BIG time!

Well, shortly after activating this phone, I found it was VERY PROPRIETARY within Helio and you really can't do much on it other than call and watch a few YouTube videos. BIG DEAL!

So at this point (now remember, I am being Extremely brief as I had gone through REAL HELL with this company), I decided to return this phone and cancel my account. I tried calling in about 6 or 7 seperate times to cancel and I either get hung up on or told some bogus excuse as to WHY I cannot cancel at this time.

They have my $100 depsoit and my $30 activation fee they said would be refunded, though I think they have no intentions of refunding me.

My strategies:

1. I will call my bank and file a dispute for the charges on my Visa.
2. I will report this Visa card stolen to the bank so Helio cannot deduct any more monies from my account.
3. I am contacting my attorney tomorrow morning to ask them to follow up on this problem. (2-12-08)
4. I am filing reports all over the net on HELIO, INC.
5. I will contact Eye Witness news and ask them to do a story on Helio, Inc.
Also writing to 60 Minutes and CCing all other news shows.

We the people being preyed on by such POORLY run companies NEED to stand up and take aim at these types of companies and never let them pull CRAP on us!!! If we do nothing... they keep on ripping us off!! DON'T LET THEM. Do something about it! Anything... just do something!!!
