I signed up for a 12 month membership with massage envy in March 2007. In July, I moved and was never able to get there. They continued to charge me $50 a month. I called and asked to cancel my membership because I never had time to come in. They said unless you move 25 miles away from a massage envy or show proof of death, you can not cancel. 25 miles may not sound far, but in Atlanta traffic, it is at least an hour drive! So now it is February, they have taken $350 and I have not had any massage. I have one more month and I will be done.

By the time this is over, they will have taken $400 and given me no service. Not only that, the massage therapists absolutely suck. They are right out of school and not even worth $50. I do not recommend going here at all!

you can't judge a book by it's cover

I'm a therapist with 10 years experience working for ME for close to 3 yrs.  With 30 to 40 therapist on staff you should find one to your liking if not you're not communicating your needs to the therapist properly.  Now with that said simply put your zip code in the ME site for Cummings Georgia and you'll find one right down the street from you and simply transfer your membership and stop crying over spilled milk.  The way I see it you have 8 prepaid's so that should give you plenty of massages to find the therapist you like with nothing to lose. And don't forget the tip

Bad advice

AUTHOR: Pb - (U.S.A.)

Although the Massage Envy should have tried to work something out for you.. simply changing your credit card or debit card number does not desolve you from your membership agreement. Massage Envy's are like any other business. if you sign an agreement you are bound by those provisions. if you didn't agree you should not have signed. Massage Envy's have a very simple and easy to understand agreement, it is beyond me how anyone can sign any agreement with any company and not read before they sign and then not abide by it. Just an FYI...most companies, including Massage Envy's use collections agency for deliquent accounts.

PEOPLE...READ BEFORE YOU SIGN..IF YOU DON'T AGREE DON'T SIGN!

another FYI...when you go to the hospital emergency rooms, those Doctors that save your lives..are fresh out of school!

So a Therapist being fresh out of school has nothing to do with how good they are....I have used and hired Therapists that have had years of practice and are still sub par.

I suggest you try other Therapists or another Massage Envy...

Sorry the clinic you belong to would not work with you....Try transfering your membership to another location or just use your membership at another location.

Take Care.....

How to Cancel your membership

AUTHOR: Charter Employee - (U.S.A.)

If you are wanting to cancel your membership, and you used your debit card, you can call your bank and ask them if they can send you a new card, with a new expiration date. I don't know if you have any other automatic debits that come directly off your CARD, but not your checking account, then you can have your old debit card changed, and not have to worry about being charged each month. Just make sure you if you do change your card number, that you let anyone else know that you have automatic debits with your card is changing! Don't worry about collections, even though they may tell you that they will send you to collections, they will not. Good luck!

Try Massage Envy in Cumming

AUTHOR: Nancy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, July 13, 2008

When you moved to Cumming and thought Massage Envy in Alpharetta was too far away to go to, did you ask whether there were any Massage Envy clinics closer to you? There is one on Peachtree Parkway just south of Cumming but still in Forsyth County, and there is one in the Cumming Town Center Shopping Center on Marketplace Blvd (In front of Best Buy). Your Massage Envy membership is good at any Massage Envy Clinic anywhere in the country. Why not try one of these Massage Envy clinics?

Also, the 2 Massage Envy clinics in Forsyth County employ very few massage therapists straight out of school: 90% of them have over 2 years experience, 75% have over 5 years experience.

It's too bad you had a bad experience with the Alpharetta location - the Massage Envy clinics in Forsyth County are fantastic!

Read the forums section on www indeed.com on Massage Envy. There is no company on that site with more complaints.
