How to get your mattress replaced when the retailer went out of business..

You need to get your reciept, look at the law label that is attached to the back of the mattress. DO NOT RIP THIS LABEL OFF!! This is the proof you will need as to who manufactured the mattress.

To get a warranty replacement you will need to prove your case, take photgraphs of the mattress showing 1 1/2" body impression, you do this by laying a yard stick down and placing a ruler up right meausuring the body impression. Your photo should be with the sheet off, and show you are not holding the yardstick. Also, you can't meaure from the tufting. Your mattress must also be free of stains of any kind and have proper support underneath. If you still feel like you can meet all the qualifications then I would proceed to contact the manufacture directly.

The manufacturers address is on the law label. I would google them at this address, get their phone number and call them. In order to get the mattress replaced you must provide proof it was manufactured by them, which the law label will prove. The law lable will also have a warranty code and the % of foams and weight in it so they can replace it with something comperable. You must have the original reciept because this will prove who you purchased it from, the name of the bed, if it was sold "as is, without a warranty" or not, the date you purchased it. The manufactuer should provide you with warranty papers to fill out. I would do this immediatly and send photos certified mail.

Next time, I would not purchase a mattress with only a 2 year warranty. Look for 10 years or greater. Cheap mattresses are to get you in the door to sell you one more appropraitely for someone your weight and height, but some people want the cheapest way out and the salesperson has no choice but to sell you what you want. The salesperson knows if you don't buy here, you may buy one worse somewhere else. A small sale is better than nothing at all.

Good Luck,
Sealy Girl
