Sears A&E Service Sold us a service agreement that was to cover a fridge repair and was an additional $453 Lewisville, Texas

Our Kenmore Elite refridgerator we purchased in December 2003 freezer side went out and we called Sears. They convinced us the service option would cover the repair and warranty for a full year and pay for all parts up to $500. We asked several times if it covered the most expensive parts like compressors and such and they assured us it did. Well it didnt and the additional expense was $473. Plus the $273 for the service policy we were out of pocket nearly $800 on a 9 year old appliance. They didnt leave any paper word for us to weigh options and wouldnt give us any. We found that odd as we were unable to make an informed decision.

Now we had to just go buy a new one from Best Buy and we cant get our refund until the parts the tech ordered are returned. We recorded all the conversations and it is clearly misleading and purposeful. We want our money back, someone to come get these parts UPS delivered and we dont want a thing other than Sears stopped from this practice. We feel duped and scamed. Why wouldnt they provide a written estimate to us. Why not just email or fax one? Why all the secrecy? If we bought the service plan and were told the repair would be covered why wasnt it? Do people just pay twice as much as quoted and forget it? We cant do that.

We even went to Sears to buy the new one and they wouldnt deliver it! They said we have to do it ourself because it was a discontinued model.
