I met this man on a dating app. His name was under BJ and it said he was 32. We exchanged numbers and began talking. He said BJ stood for Bryce Junior and gave a sob story about his dad passing. He was completely invested in speaking when ever he possibly could. Everything was great, oddly had a very strong connection.
He seemed like he genuinely wanted to get to know me. He said he works for DCF which was a tactic of his to make me, a single mom, more open with him. A few days after talking and being on the phone for hours at a time, we met briefly in the parking lot of a restaurant because I was in the area he lived in and I was with a friend and my daughter.
He was very understanding of me not allowing him to meet my daughter but always made comments about the "future”. A few days later we had lunch and went to his place in Pawtucket. It was then where the first lie came out that he was really 40 and had a 19 year old daughter. He explained the lie was to protect his job.
I was skeptical but continued to speak with him. Next time I saw him was at my job (a bar in CT) where he met me and had planned to stay at my place so he wouldn’t drink and drive so far. That was the night I was thrown off at who he was. I wasn’t sure what it was but my gut told me he was lying more. He was extremely friendly with everyone, which was fine but it was not the reserved person I was just speaking to everyday for the passed week.
He had a "cousin” meet him that he said lived in CT right by me (but never mentioned it before). One of my best friends met him and was skeptical about things he said. He was a smooth talker so she was convinced he was cool but obviously just told me to be careful of my heart (thinking the worst he could do is cheat) My gut instinct was screaming at me so later on that night I looked at him and I told him something is off with how he was acting.
I told him straight to his face "I’m not sure what it is but I have good intuition and I will find out” The next day I spoke to a friend from Taunton MA, sent her a pic of this guy & found out his real name. Byron Dias 44! There are multiple reports of women being scammed by him. Do not be fooled !!! He knows how to make women feel loved & secured & acts as if he’s financially stable but he’s a BUM!
Thank GOD I went with my gut! He disappeared after I confronted him and he did not take anything from me, but I have to share this story in hopes other women are not victim to this guy.

So sorry to hear about everything you have all gone through. I am currently working on a documentary all about fraud and scams like this one and to help bring awareness to this terrible crime, we are looking to speak with individuals willing to share their story.
We are currently in the process of producing a new documentary series for a major broadcaster about extraordinary tales of deception - be it bigamy, catfishing or romance fraud. The series will focus on the bravery and heroism involved in bringing fraudsters to court and receiving justice for their crimes.

Man y’all. I’m the masters victim. I met Byron aka Wish Peña on a dating app. Pretty much same stories as everyone else. I just want to know who’s filed a police report and was anything done.
He can’t continue to scam single moms out of hundreds of dollars.

Hi guys. My name is Kailee, and i am his daughter, i just turned 20 in march and i’m so sorry you guys have gone through this, i’m even more sorry that he has brought me in it, it’s been going on for a while now, i always was a daddy’s girl until i saw the real him. i’ll love him forever, but from a far. He’s not only used you guys but also me, you can find dates and reports leading back to 2010 when i was just nine years old... saying he needed christmas gifts and so on. i’m truly sorry about him.. but i would greatly hope you guys would respect me and not reach out to me, i’ve gotten crazy dms just because i am a influencer, and alot of them are bashing my dad and i do get it trust me i can’t stand the man myself but i’m an innocent child and i have no say in what he does.
i have no idea what he does. we have no relationship so please keep me out of it. I hope you guys are all okay! i can’t stress it enough on how sorry i am, i hate being associated with him because of stuff like this but i hope you guys respect me and won’t message me anymore. thank you, Kailee Dias

He moved to a different state and doing the same exact thing to these new victims. This bad man looks a little different now. We should all join our forces and have him pay for the trauma he’s caused to certain women. What’s his motive to take advantage of women. He might possible be going by a different identity
