When i noticed my bank cards missing ,I contacted my local office and asked them to discontinue my cards. They said they could not because my wife was added to my account , but she was out of town i explained to them and that she could not come in .

A few days later when she was back we checked with them and now my account was 500 $ in the hole. I asked them to cancel the cards again and they did ,but when i came in a few days later to pay the negative balance is was the almost 1300 $ in the hole . I asked how this could be and they mentioned all these different fees.

I have made several 250 $ payments on this account to find outt i stilkl owe 800 $ ,then to make it worse they took the money out of my savings account , and have been charging me fees on it because it then was under a hundred dollars and now it is in the negatives.

Bottom line is that i do not reccomend this bank because of its lack of customer care and hidden fees . And i have been trying to get them to work with me in taking care of this matter , but the more i pay the further in the hole i get.

Thankyou for reading this and hopefully it doesnt happen to you !

phone calls do not solve problems

you stated that they would not cancel your cards becuase your wife was out of town and could not go up there, first off you should not have called, you should have went to the local branch in person, as regardless, if you are on the account you can cancel the cards. i know this for a fact as i have held an account with 1st convenience for over 6 years, and originally our account was set up for either one of us to make any decisions on the the account needed, checks stated jane doe or john doe, i got pissed off at him and went to the branck and closed his debit card, because i had that right, we even changed the account to state jane doe and john doe, yeah we both have to sign off on checks, but either of us can go and do anything to the account we want to, he issed me off again and i went and cancelled his debit card and he went and cancelled mone to get even. texas is a 50/50 state and there is no reason why you could not cancel the cards, if you called in then you were sent to their call center in killeen, and those crazy people have no clue how the bank works they just sit in the call center and answer the phones, going to the local branch is always the best bet. you are entitles to have any money charged on your card refunded as their debit cards are backed by mastercard international, and is fdic insured as well. you need to go to the bank and and fight this, as when paypal kept taking money out of my checking account when some d**k hacked my paypal account and went on a shopping spree, i got back all $8.765.88 they spent as well as the full $4.986.00 in nsf and over draft and account negative fees. them taking money out of your savings, was at your consent as you sign giving them permission to if you opted out of their other over draft protections, and yes their savings accounts suck, but all in all this is a great bank and you have to go to them in person, not call, my kids have opened all of their first accounts with this bank and use them as we speak, good luck and i hope you finish getting your money back.
