I'm not sure how far back to start so I will start at the beginning:
On 09/26/2002, the roof of my home was removed by not only an unauthorized local roofing company but also a company that was unlicensed and latter proved to be unprofessional. After contacting the local police dept, the BBB and a private attorney, I was advised to consult with my current homeowner insurance carrier and make a claim against my current policy.
I took the advice and contacted My nearest AAA office 2 days after Thanksgiving, 2002. After about 30 days of back and forth telephone calls, faxes and emails, I was informed by Maria Jimenez, an AAA claims adjuster, that "The roof of my home was 29 years old. The average lifetime of a wooden shake roof is 30 years. Therefore, my roof was not worth any dollar value and they would therefore not be covered per my policy".
Today is 8/31/2004. My roof is still missing. More importantly, my home was sold at a trustees sale on 6/01/2004. Why? Well there is only one reason why a home is sold in such a manner, Non payment of mortgage payments.
My non payments began on 12/01/2002, the month following the renters of 3 bedrooms left. The only other renters who was willing to rent the "Rooms in the home without adequate roofing materials and protection" following my rip off roof episode, was friends of mine who all had to be evicted with total due balances in excess of $1,500.00

How did Insurance Company Become Responsible?

I understand that you incurred a loss here, but I am at a loss as to how you made the determination that your insurance company should be responsible for either replacing a roof that has reached the end of its service life or for finishing work left undone by an unethical contractor, hired by you.
I'm sympathetic to your misfortune, but this all sounds self-inflicted.

Too Weird, Norman should be posting the name of the roofing company

This post is too weird. Either I'm confused or the person who posted is. Norman contracted with an unauthorized, unlicensed, unprofessional(cheap) roofing company to replace his commercial establishment's roof. The roofing company didn't replace his roof. He filed with everybody. Nothing comes of it so he deceides to file under his homeowners ins. 6 months after his roof is gone, his tenants move out, wonder why, and he stops making house payments. 18 or so months later the bank forecloses on his house and sells it at auction, go figure. And, his major complaint is with his ins. company about a 29 year old roof that has a life of 30 years. I think if anything, Norman should be posting the name of the roofing company. Not trying to screw the ins. company out of a few dollars.
