4.5 years ago I purchased a home through Accredited Home Lenders, and maintained a current account until 8/2008, when Accredited suddenly decided my taxes and insurance "were going way up" and they raised my manageable payment $400 "to cover the anticipated changes." I continued to pay the account current through 11/2008, borrowing from Peter to pay Paul whenever I could. That good record means nothing to AHL.

It all finally caught up with me and I skipped the 12/2008 payment, but continued to make one payment per month since then. I contacted AHL several times to request a restructure of my loan. They refuse to work with me, sending me "Intent to Foreclose" notices on a 20 day delinquent account. I then contacted NACA, who is also trying to work with them to no avail.

Today, (I'm still not 30 days late) I received a call from AHL advising me that THEY don't believe I can afford my house and I should give it up. THEY also think I should get married and that will fix my financial woes. They refused again to work with NACA or consider a restructure. In fact, as of March 1st, they have sold my loan, yet the harrassment and threats continues DAILY.

This is a predatory lender who should be put out of business. They break every consumer protection law on the books and they apparently are only interested in making life miserable for those who are unfortunate to be assigned to them.
