Advantage America ripoff Internet

I was ripped off. I should have been smarter than that, but some people just have a way with words. Next time ill know better.

Advantage America attempted to contact me several times within 3-4 days before i finally took their call. The represenative who assisted me did not speak very good english. I made him repeat everything he said atleast twice so that i could understand.

He proceeded to tell me that i have been chosen to recieve a $12,500 government grant, and all i had to do is give them a little information to confirm my identity. The confirmation included my bank account number, my routing number, and ofcourse, my name and address. He told me that I was responsibe for paying a processing fee of $49.95 to process the grant.

I was supposed to fill out some paperwork included in a package that i was to recieve by mail within 2 business days. Well, i never recieved the package. 1 week went by and still no package. I eventually called my bank. They said that Advantage America had charged my account $49.95, so i asked my bank for a phone number. They gave me a customer service number of 866.503.7345.

I repeatedly called this number over and over throughout the whole day. An automated machine answered and said "Our customer service agents are still busy assisting other customers, please stay on the line and we'll be more than happy to assist you." And again i was misinformed. Not one person answered the phone.

So here i am, filling out this report. I've been ripped off!!!! $50 is $50. I work hard for my money. But its not even about the money, its the principle. Its definately worth $50 to me just to see these crooks prosicuted to the fullest extent.

If Advantage America is claiming to be part of the Government, you would think that the Government would have to put their foot down and catch these badguys. You wouldnt want to think that the Government was as vulnerable as we were when we fell for this scam, now would we?

If anyone has any information, my contact information should be posted along with my report. I urge anyone who has the power to do anything about these scam artists to please do it before they rip you off and you become one of us.
