American Airlines is the worst company ever when it comes to getting your refund back. Back in November, I became ill and needed an emergency surgery later that month. My flight to Honduras was on December 14th.

After I filed for a refund, I waited about 6 months to constantly see the "Refund in Progress" status. My credit card number had changed due to banks switching over so I felt this was the problem.

I decided to email them in March to see what was going on. After recieving no call/email/contact I gave them a call on their 800 number in late MAY. Their refunds hotline is absolutely horrible. There are NO customer service representatives the whole time. It is JUST computers!!

Thus, I called up the Reservations department to see if they could help. After 20 minutes of telling the story the customer service rep basically said there was nothing they could do and that is the banks job to transfer the refund they sent over to the new card.   

After speaking with the bank, they said they never recieved any refunds on ANY card. With this, I was forced to call AA back which told me ONCE AGAIN there was nothing they can do and I have to call my bank back.

This makes absolutely NO SENSE! It is AA's job to send my refund which CLEARLY my bank NEVER recieved. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE they even hung up on me after I was CALMLY explaining my situation every single time. Eight calls later and I still have not been refunded!!!
