 We booked and paid for a flight from Pensacola, Florida, to Palma de Mallorca, Spain, to visit friends. Booked on line with American Airlines. Hurricane Irma developed and we were unable to go. Further, a family member fell ill and spent a week in the hospital 250 miles from home. We had to cancel our trip. The hotel refunded our deposit without question. American Airlines would not refund. They stole $2800 from us. I will never use their services again unless it is a life-threatening situation, and I will always hate them and trash them to whoever will listen in response to their theft. They had plenty of time to resale out seats, and surely did anyway. So they sold our seats seats twice. When we bought the tickets, nothing on their website said 'non-refundable'. Dishonest crooks. Beware of American Airlines.
