I wanted to warn others about Brighten Communications. I was very excited to finally get a work at home job. I started last week with a 4 hour project that went well. I gave Brighten more leads than what was expected of me. Then I received my next project and had no luck with the leads. I was calling business' asking them if they'd be interested in selling their business. Most people hung up or laughed, or just said plain NO. I emailed Brighten and told them when I was half way through that I was having no luck. They sent me an email back with some encouraging words, so I continued with no luck. I just received this email from Brighten today:

Based on the lack of leads, quality or client feedback on leads you have turned in, Brighten Communications feels it is best to terminate our agreement effectively immediately.

We wish you the best of luck, and I will make sure the payroll department gets your check out for any monies you are owed. As per your signed agreement, further contact with any of the clients you were calling on behalf of would be a breach of contractual confidentiality and is prohibited.

I am of course very upset, because this was my 2nd project, and I truly did my best with what was given to me. I feel as though Brighten only allows a 4 hour project each week, and does not give you anymore. I think they get rid of people before they can reach the 20 hour raise. I just hope they pay me for the 8 hours I have given them. Please stay away from this company, they are no good. I only wish their clients knew how they treat their employees.

Brighten Communicatons

I worked for BC for about 6 months. I had previous experince in cold calling and telemarketing. After my first inital 2 month my pay did go to 12.00 an hour.I also at this point could "Ask for how many hours I wanted for each week". I was let go after 6 months as I was only getting 2 phone leads and perhaps 2 leads in a 4 hour period. Apparently that was not good enough. No problem. Think what my biggest disapoinment in all this was (A) The Lists of names that were provided??? Come on now when you get a 200 names and out of them 25% are "bad numbers" or owner has been dead for years ,etc .

There were times out of an entire list ,including call backs ,I would be lucky if I TALKED to 15 people if that. Then not once but 3 times (I dont have call block number on my phone) .Prospective clients would call me with "Ok now I had an appointment with Mr . SO and So and they not only never called , there is no correct number to contact this person??" Talk about ..adlibbing! As I for sure didnt want to loose my job @ that point .This happened more than once and trust me it made me feel like a fool.

Then one week ,I had put in my hours for the following week.Come Tuesday I didnt have my lists, so I emailed my"supervisor" and that is when I was emailed back stating that I just wasnt getting the leads. Ok, fine but still amazes me how you can get leads when you are dialing from a phone book. Be Serious now, those name were never really gone over or else you would not have had so many "bad Numbers" However My pay was always deposited into my account and for 6 months of "work" I made a nice little profit. So no hard feelings here, just wish that the "lists" had been better.

#2 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Brighten is fair and honest

AUTHOR: Tiffany Dawn - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, October 26, 2007

Brighten is a small (by telemarketing standards) company with less than 250 callers. We are not the same company as the other company mentioned and we are NOT a sweat shop. As part owner, and as fully involved as I can be in day to day operations, while still being a homeschooling mother and dealing with chronic pain from a disease, I take offense to allegations that Brighten treats anyone unfairly or that we are an unscrupulous firm.

Brighten hires many new callers each week because we have learned from experience that you either have it or you don't. We hire callers who present resumes with 20 years experience in cold calling and the highest accolades, who on their first or second project, report 200 dials and not one lead. On the flip side, we hire callers with little to no experience who with the same name list/project, place 200 dials and generate ten or more legitimate prospects for our clients and they love what they do.

We have learned through trial and error and years of hiring that those who fail on their first projects continue to produce lower results than the rest of our callers while those who start out well continue to do well and even improve.

We have callers that earn between $14 and $16 per hour that have been with us for over half a decade now and enjoy the freedom they get working for Brighten, and we appreciate them greatly.

Brighten has a responsibility to its various clients to produce results, that's what they pay us for legitimate results. If someone has come on board and only made it through a project or two and places the blame on us, they are only seeing one side. They did not see the other new callers and the current callers who produced the results we need for our clients. These expected results and our policies are made clear to applicants up front in both the contract they sign and the training tutorials they must complete.

Brighten pays the highest hourly wage in the industry and relies on pure trust for the hours and results our callers report. We provide great flexibility for our callers' work schedules and are proud of our callers and the product we produce for our clients.
