I bought my wife a leather coat from Burlington Coat Factory for a Christmas present. I brought it home and my daughter wrapped it for me. When my wife put it on on Christmas day the zipper broke after 5 minutes. I called the store to try to get in touch with a manager to see if I could exchange it. No manager was available even tho the store was open.
Every time I called no manager was available. I went to the store later in the week. They took the coat and noticed a stain on the inside. They told us they could not exchange the coat. I explained when I got the coat it went from their bag to a box, which I had to buy. That's how cheap the store is even at holiday time, and was only touched on Christmas morning. They insisted that they could not exchange the coat and were hesitant at fixing the zipper. They agreed to fix the zipper and said it would take 2 weeks to do that. I said that their policy was unacceptable to me. I paid a lot of money for that coat and they still would not honor my request for an exchange. I stormed out of the store and vowed I would never shop there. I also disuade anyone else from shopping their. Their policies stink as does the service you get from them.

Burlington Coat Factory DOES have a return policy that is more stringent than most. However, this policy is posted all over the store, AND on your receipt. Common sense should have dictated to you that it might not have been wise to purchase a GIFT here -- whether the item ended up not fitting or was defective. Unfortunately, however, you chose to buy the jacket there anyway, choosing their extremely low price over buying a quality jacket at another store that has a much more customer-friendly policy. At any rate, you were properly forewarned before you chose to buy the jacket, so don't try crying over spilled milk now. Simply learn from your mistake and try not to do it again.
