Fraud has been committed against me by Mr. H.R. Privette, owner of Carolina Furniture located in High Point. In April 2002 I located Carolina Furniture on the Internet and contracted with Carolina Furniture to purchase furniture with a signed contract and cash deposit of $3,084. It is now the New Year (Jan 2003) and after continued delay tactics I still don't have my furniture. On two occasions I talked with Mr. Privette and established firm delivery dates all of which were no shows. So I have to presume at this point that Mr. Privette has no intention of providing me with furniture or a full refund of my deposit which I requested.

I am not the only one who has been defrauded as there have been over 70 complaints filed with the North Carolina State Attorney Generals office and numerous complaints with the Greensboro Better Business Bureau.

I have also filed with these agencies and now with the District Attorney Mr. Stewart Albright in Greensboro, in an attempt to prevent Mr. Privette from victimizing others and also to protect the names of reputable furniture stores in the Greensboro area. It should be noted that Mr. Privette has been barred from operating a furniture store in South Carolina because of adjudication against him for unscrupulous business practices.
