I reserved a room at Comfort Suites Springfield Mo for two nights. I made reservations approximately a month ahead of time. I am a government employee and the county I work for cuts me a check for my stay and I only use my debit card to reserve the room.  In the 8 years I have worked for the county my card has never been charged. I arrived on August 19th as planned but my conference didn't end until 5:00 p.m.  I then went to eat and looked at my bank account information on my iPhone while eating dinner. I saw a hold on my account for 98 dollars and some odd change from the hotel. I called hotel and was told as soon as I checked in and presented the check from the county the hold would be removed. I checked in and gave the hotel my check. To make a long story short. Three days later and three overdraft charges later my bank manually removed the hold and refunded me two of my overdraft charges even though it wasnt the banks fault. I called customer service for choice hotels several times and it was explained to me this is protocol if a person doesn't arrive by 4:00 p.m.  But I wasn't informed of this at the time I made my reservations?  This was explained as each hotel has their own policy and I would have to take that up with the hotel manager. He's not the one who made the reservation.  the hotel manager was very courteous and professional and explained that this is their hotels policy but I was not informed of that at the time I made my reservation and I specifically asked twice to make sure my card would not be charged.  About 20 phone calls later and massive anxiety and raised blood pressure levels I was informed that it's too bad and choice hotels doesn't care if I ever come back or not.  Sorry for any inconvenience we hate to lose your business but we arent going to do anything to rectify the situation.  See ya.   Very unprofessional and I will not deal with choice hotels ever again
