CIC Credit Monitor ripoff Scam using the word "FREE credit report" to steal $79.95 from you Orange California

I like apparently so many others were duped out of $79.95 for my FREE credit report when I failed to cancel within the 30-day period. I opened my credit card bill and noticed a charge for $79.95 having no idea who CIC Credit Monitoring service was I called them to get the charge taken off.

They were very polite and said no problem. I think they get lots of calls of this nature. The man on the phone asked if I went online and requested a credit report. I said yes I requested a FREE credit report. He then informed me of the policy about canceling before 30 days not to get charged.

He said the charge would be taken off immediately and sorry for the inconvenience. I asked him if the entire charge of $79.95 would be removed and he said no. Only $71.00 of it would be credited back on my card because I used service for a month. What a bunch of BS. I asked him if they get allot of calls like this and his response was yes we get allot of people that do not read the agreement. I have written off the $8.00 but have a plan to hit them where they hit us.

Do a search for consumer info in Google. Under the sponsored link section on the right of the page there will be a link to Consumer Info somewhere. The way Google works is that every time this link is clicked the company has to pay a small fee. Have fun clicking.
