COLUMBIA HOUSE HAS SPECIAL OFFERS THAT LEAD THE BUYER TO BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE GETTING EXCEPTIONAL DEALS. PROMOTIONAL OFFFERS LIKE CD'S FOR $.1 WITH THE PURCHASE OF 6 CD'S(DISCOUNTED PRICE OF $19.99 AVERAGE AND AND AFTER HAVING PURCHASED THE 6 CD'S ONE IS OBLIGATED TO PURCHASE ONE CAN GET ADDITIONAL CD'S AT SALE PRICE OF $19.99 AND 2ND ONE THEREAFTER AT$11.99-$14.99-"SHIPPING AND HANDLING")SURE THE PROMOTIONAL OFFER SOUNDS GREAT BUT WHAT THEY FAIL TO MENTION IS HOW MUCH THE "SHIPPING AND HANDLING CHARGE IS." WELL LET ME PUT IT TO YOU THIS WAY , I ORDERED 11 CD'S. COST FOR CD'S WAS ABOUT $6-7DOLLARS.

MY TOTAL COST CAME UP TO A LITTLE OVER $38.00. "$31.00 DOLLARS FOR SHIPPING AND HANDLING?....PLEASE LET'S GET REAL. THE OFFER ALSO STATED THAT IF NOT COMPLETELY SATISFIED , ONE CAN RETURN THE CD'S...WITHIN APPROXIMATELY 10 DAYS....FREE OF CHARGE. THE PACKAGE WAS SHIPPED VIA REGULAR MAIL, THERE WAS NO REAL WAY OF KNOWING EXACTLY WHEN THE PACKAGE ARRIVED TO MY RESIDENCE. FURTHERMORE, IT WAS UNCLEAR HOW I WAS TO RETURN THE PRODUCT. I ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT COLUMBIA HOUSE SEVERAL TIMES VIA THE PHONE # THAT WAS ENCLOSED WITH MY INVOICE, TO NO AVAIL.

RECORDING KEPT TELLING ME TO CAL LATER OR E-MAIL THEM. I FINALLY DECIDED TO TRY THE SUPPOSED QUICKER WAY...E-MAIL. WELL IVE SENT 3 E-MAILS WITHIN A 2 WEEK PERIOD AND YET NO RESPONSE. ONE GOOD THING I DISCOVERED IS THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE COMPLAINING. APPARENTLY THERE ARE SEVERAL UNHAPPY MUSIC LOVERS WHO AFTER HAVING RECEIVED THEIR INVOICE, HEARD THE MUSIC OF ANOTHER TUNE...FRAUD. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT PENDING IN WHICH CUSTOMERS FELT THEY WERE MISLEAD BY COLUMBIA HOUSE' MISLEADING PROMOTIONS. REBATES HAVE BEEN ISSUED TO MEBERS WHO PURCHASED PRODUCTS FROM THEM FROM 1993 TO DEC OF 2001.
I DECIDED TO RETURN THE CD'S BACK TO COLUMBIA . MY COST TO SHIP AND HANDLE.........$5.75.
WHAT A DEAL I MEAN STEAL!!

I too made that mistake of Buying from Columbia house

I bought the same dahm package of the 12 CD's for $.01! I thought it was a good deal till the cd's came a month later when I ordered them online. I payed what I think was a lot for the shipping. They charge so much for shipping and handeling but yet it takes so long to get the cd's.

Then they want you to become a DVD member. Like thats a deal. I will never make this mistake again. Every time I order my cd's that I have to buy to meet my contract it takes a month for the cd's to get to me. Oh and don't bother tryeing to reply to their e mails when you submit a complaint. They don't accept files with attachments but yet their e mail says you can reply to them.

Thier employees are rude they are over priced and they don't have any idea of the stress they add to people. I think they need some customer service training. They are quick to b***h about payment but are slow to ship and deal with their customers.

If I'm paying so much for shipping and handeling then why the heck does it take so long to get me my cd's? Nobody at Colubia house can tell me why.

They don't seem to care and nobody takes complaints well about their service. DON'T BUY FROM THEM THEY JUST SCREW YOU ON EVERYTHING. I would rather go down the street to Wal Mart and buy the cd on sale and have it the same day I bought it. A month is not timely to me.
