I have been a cable customer since (((competitor's name redacted))) was in this area. With (((redacted))), service was fantastic! The cable boxes worked well with the service, and we had hardly any outages, if any. On Demand was perfect and highly responsive. Then Comcast came in.

At first the service was okay, except for On Demand. On Demand refused to work for 6 months! We had to pay for those 6 months of no On Demand service! When On Demand started working again, the more serious problems started: box kept freezing up, slow to respond, pixeling, frequent On Demand outages, complete outages of service (not suspensions, technical problems).

We have Scientific Atlanta cable boxes in this area, but any other Comcast area I've been in has newer Motorola cable boxes. From what I've seen, those cable boxes are much more stable than the ones we have around here. I asked Comcast many times to bring out a Motorola cable box, but they refuse.

All we want is a Motorola cable box to be installed at our residence, and finally have the service we've been paying for. Come on Comcast, get your technology updated in this area!

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. Also, only one type of box is used in each area. They don't mix the two types of boxes. And On-Demand is a free service that you will not recieve credit for. It is a complimentary service offered by Comcast to thier customers. There are areas that cannot get On-Demand and they pay the same basic rates that you do. You will not recieve credit for something you were not paying for to begin with.

Scientfic Atlanta Boxes

SA Boxes are better than Motorola Boxes... this sounds like it could be a few problems to me ... cable line, splitter or splitters or low signal. I am willing to bet 100-1 that there is low signal on the cable line with that particular box, in the cable business this is refered to as Digital Tileing. I would have them check signal on that like you want a digital box to either be + or - 2 or 3db at max 7 db.
