Comcast consistently does not send us a monthly bill and then charges us a late fee the next month. This is the 2nd month (NOVEMBER/DECEMBER) in a row that this has happened since we started using Comcast in April 2009. The customer service is AWFUL and rude! When I called most recently, the operator rudely asked "what, you thought your service was free". I was not aware that I had to personally call Comcast each month and request a bill. Their supervisor told me that I am responsible for paying my bills and  that they wouldn't refund the late fee and reconnection fee they charged me two times, even do it is their mistake not sending us the bills.


I feel outraged and sad that this happened to us.


 After Google my problem in the internet, I discovered that the same thing is happening with so many people out there...the same problem!


How come the FBI is not investigating this company?


What a SCAM!!!!

I Don't Think So..

I have had the same thing happen to me before a couple of times. According to my records it has happened twice.

10/08 I did not receive a bill
12/09 I did not receive a bill

I have been with Comcast it seems for about 10 years and in the last 6 or 7 years I have not made any changes to my service. So I don't see this as an accidental email billing sign up!

On top of that I have had a couple times when they raised my bill an amount where it just doesn't add up.

07/08 Raised $0.01 and stayed that way a couple of months
02/09 Raised $0.01 and stayed that way a couple of months

No, the 2 cases of late fees and penny increases is not killing me, but if you look at the fact that it does happen to other people adds up to a bigger picture and a lot of dirty dealings.

Right now, there is nothing that I am aware, that protects consumers from this kind of treatment. When it comes to the bills from Comcast that were not received, it is our word against theirs. Not to mention they can easily say the "Consumer lost their bill" or "They signed up for web billing" or "It got lost in the mail" When the consumer can only go "We didn't get a bill"

I have also seen a situation here 12/10 where my bill did not make it to them on time. Now please note..I wrote the check 12/7/10...mailed 12/8/10...the bill is due by the 10th obviously late... slap me with a late fee...I own it. HOWEVER they did not even register the payment arriving as of 12/21/10 on their billing cycle....WHAT! When I received my new bill (01/11) documenting that at the time it was mailed my payment had not been received...showing I owed a big double payment. In addition to that...the late fee I was knowingly owed...was not on my bill. Huh? That late fee did not show up until the next bill 02/11. Also on my Feb. bill, I also noticed that they claim to have received payment for 12/10 on 01/02/11...just shy of one month since I mailed it.


For the people who think, "Just stop using them" or "You don't have to have cable, it's a free country"

Now, I understand cable service is a luxury item and is not required, I also understand that there are other services available besides cable, but, does that mean we should just allow Comcast to continue rip people off. Is it really OK for them to do things like this as long as we are given a choice to quit or change service.

Just ask yourself this, If a tree falls in the woods and nobody is around, does it make a sound?

Now how about this, If your not using Comcast service because you think they were robbing people dirty. Have they stopping robbing people since you are not with them?

Issue might be email billing

I had the same issue with Comast last year.  When I changed services - went to digital with a DVR - they automatically signed me up for email billing (and did not tell me of course).  I never used the Comcast email so did not see that the bills were arriving there.

If you have Comcast internet service, you will have a created email with them.  Check that account and see if your bills are going there instead of through the mail.
