We have had nothing but troubles with comcast. We have went through at least TWO of thier own modems before purchasing our own modem, the make THEY recommend. The modem we purchased and it tested fine worked well before hooking it up to comcast. Now the modem can not be set back to its factory default and this is only the beginning of the complaint.

We are constantly are being hacked regardless of what modem we use even our routers are being hacked. It's understandable if someone gets your MAC address and hacks you with that, but them being able to get it each and every time from a new modem is impossible unless someone already knows the new MAC address, AND, whom might that be? And the hackers timing is impossible without some type of human intervention.

We also use our phone service via cable and we've changed service providers three times though that too acts up so bad we can't even check our automated banking account now. When our service tech attempted to run a test to test the quality of the speed he was able to determine that comcast has some type of firewall or something blocking our connection.

It's very obvious by now that comcast has no plans to correct any of aforementioned and Comcast has caused me tremendous amounts of stress so much so that I am getting high blood pressure now and I no longer consider myself a customer but a victim of comcast but a victim instead.

Let me start with I can be running freshly installed Linux on fresh computers through fresh routers when the breaches happen. What particular virus software do you recommend on a newly installed Linux system? The modem is an Arris modem by the way and one that reset fine when it arrived last year though it won't now. As far as my phone provider goes being blocked? Blocking phone providers of my choice isn't what comcast is being paid for and yes I have contacted comcast numerous times over and over to no avail.

Perhaps you should really go back and read what you wrote.  You are basically saying that the entire world(well at least Comcast and a Router Manufacturer) is out to get you and "hack" into your computer.

First of all I have NEVER seen a single router that you can not reset to factory settings.  You don't give the manufacturer or model number, but if you truly can not reset the router that is a manufacturer issue unless you are claiming that somehow Comcast is "paying off" a company to block that feature.

As for constantly being "hacked".  You have mentioned your router being changed, you have mentioned your modem being changed.  But what have you not mentioned...your computers.  Your computer(or computers) could have a virus or malware that goes out and grabs all of your network information before it sends it off to some server in Russia(as an example).

You talk about needing some "human intervention". WRONG...if you have malware on a PC, the nano-second it gets on a network your network can be "hacked"..all 100% automatic and with zero "human interaction".

Do you even have any anti-virus and anti-malware software installed?  Of course you do..right.  So is it up to date?  Does it get run daily?

You mention about your phone service, perhaps one of the many VoIP systems.  Many service providers have blocked these companies from running on their networks.  Have you actually ever called Comcast and asked them if this is the case?  Because another possibility is that you have YOUR router incorrectly configured for VoIP.

One final question.  Exactly what do you consider "hacked" and how do you know you are being "hacked".
