I was feeling so desperate to create an immediate income, that I let my common sense fly right out the window, and I fell for this just long enough to whip out my poor ol' credit card and part with the $99. The moment I saw that the information they gave me was in a poorly written and presented PDF file, I knew I'd been taken.
Having already spent the money, I did type the ads for a couple of days, checking back on my Clickbank Account to monitor for any activity whatsoever...nothing, of course. Let me say right here that the address given for Computer learning Center is actually Clickbank's address in Idaho, not theirs at all. The phone number(213-403-0156)that identifies itself as "Computer Learning Center" is ALWAYS a recording, and your call is NEVER returned. Same for emails to their "help" email address above.
I don't believe that Clickbank is directly involved in this scam, but is simply the venue through which this bogus company is accepting funds. With a little digging, I found the parent company of Clickbank, Kenetics, Inc., and appealed to them directly for a refund. Their number is 208-345-4245, and they were very polite and helpful. I was assured I would receive a confirmation email(which I did), and that my refund would be processed within 5 business days...I'll keep you posted!
In the process of researching the validity of Computer Learning Center, I found that virtually every single one of these Data Entry programs is a total farce ! Don't fall for it! One of the aspects, apparently, of these types of scams is that they seem to be setting up sham "comsumer advocacy" type websites that falsely "review" their program as the cream of the crop, or completely legitimate and profitable. I strongly suspect they are owned and operated by the very owners of the BOGUS programs themselves.
BOTTOM LINE: Do Your Homework! Check out Rip-Off Report before you make ANY online purchase! If you can not find the name , address and telephone number of the owner/operator of a web-site,hang on to your wallet and RUN! If you do find the information, check out an online Reverse Directory, and verify the validity of the address and phone number. Be sure it's not a P.O. Box in Podunk, U.S.A., or an abandoned phone booth in the Mojave dessert! Legitimate businesses do not hide behind an email to "Customer Support". If you can find the name of the Author, Owner/Operator, Parent Company, etc., do a Google search on it with the added word "review" or "scam" BEFORE you part with your hard earned money. You'll be amazed at what will turn up!
Sadly, this time, your Momma is right... if it seems to be TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, it is.
