I am a ONEPASS MEMBER w/Continental Airlines. My mother-Arlene Giering is a registered traveler on my account to get One Pass Miles. In MArch 2006, booked a flight on Continental.com and was supposed to get 856 miles each way. Due to an illness in family, my mother had to move up trip 1 week. She could not do it online, had to call Customer Service directly and was advised then to just submit boarding passes and would get credit for One Pass Miles.

I did that in April, heard nothing for months, sent an email and was asked to resubmit boarding passes, mailed them as requested. Now being told cannot have One Pass Miles since primary name on my account is not what was on boarding passes.

Keep asking for more info then deny my requests in the end

LIARS!

One Pass Members

AUTHOR: Angie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 02, 2006

I have just completed a 4 week class in Reservations from Continental Airlines which now I am employed. I want to make a difference and set the record straight.

This is what we were taught in class. If you are a One Pass Member, that means YOU and YOU ALONE. You are the only one who can earn miles as well as spend the miles. NO one else can use your One Pass Account. If your mother flew, she could have opened her own One Pass Account and she would have to use her own miles... etc.

Continental spends a lot of time and money training their employees in policies and procedures within the company. We value our customers. They are a fair company and a great company to work for. I am sorry that you had a bad experience but you will find the One Pass program to be like the other airlines' as well.

Confusing "Online Account Preferences" with "Account Membership"

AUTHOR: Current - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 28, 2006

When booking travel online via Continental.com, you have the option of signing in to the site using your OnePass account and PIN, or your username and password. After you are signed in, Continental's website recognizes your saved preferences including additional passengers who travel with you, email addresses, credit card payment info, etc. This information is for your convenience when booking travel, but does not constitute additional members accruing mileage under your OnePass number.

I have signed into my own OnePass account, and copied the pertinent categories that I am referring to:

Account Profile

Address Settings
Saved Addresses
Address Privacy

E-mail Settings
Saved E-mail Addresses
E-mail Subscriptions
TripAlert

Phone Settings
Saved Phone Numbers
Phone Privacy
Account Settings
Change PIN
Set Username
Set Password

Saved Travelers

Saved Pets

Saved Forms of Payment

Search Preferences

Regional Preferences

I'm sorry you were confused about the preference settings on Continental.com vs. actual members on your account. Continental Airlines clearly did not rip you off; in fact, they tried to make it as easy and convenient as possible for you to book your travel. I suggest the solution to your problem would be to set up a OnePass for your mother, and all other members of your family who travel.

Really

I quoted their web site. Could you provide the URL on their site to back up your statement? The application has only space for one name.

I can't find anything that lets you add another name to an account.

READ SMALL PRINT AND WHY DOES CONTINENTAL.COM

AUTHOR: Derek - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 21, 2006

GIVE you a place to add travelers to your One-pass account such as kids and spouses and parents who do not want accounts or cannot get accounts. Sorry wrong answers, sound like an airline employee. Besides if when flight originally booked under a SAVED TRAVELER link, which is a link on there website, and told me of the miles I would be earning, they should be honored. Continental is clearly misleading people into believeing they will get miles if they have this ability to book for others thru ONE PASS ACCOUNT

So do not protect big corporate business since it was there misleading of me the consumer..If not eligible, do not make a link so people can get mislead about earning Airline Miles.

They are wrong for doing this and it is a RIPOFF@!

What does the small print say?

AUTHOR: Elaine - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 21, 2006

You need to check with Continental Airlines and read their one-pass small print. I'll bet - like every other frequent flier mile program - that while others can USE the miles, others cannot accumulate miles on one account, each person has to have their own account.

Sorry, but I don't see the rip off here, as Continental (probably) has had these rules in place for years. Your failure to read them does not make them wrong and evil.

No Rip-off here

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 21, 2006

According to the CO website, you and you alone can receive credit for traveling:

"You can have only one OnePass account, which is established under your full first and last name (no initials, please). Only you may accrue mileage in your account."

If you were getting credit for her flying, they may audit your account and remove such mileage and cancel it for fraud.
